Have visited this restaurant several times with friends over the last couple of years for both lunch and dinner and our last visit was in April 2014. The meal was very good and excellent value, so we weren't surprised to read the review by Gilles Pudlowski. Bravo les Messugues for such a good review from such a well-respected critic! Reading the review made our mouths water and we were eager to return. We were so disappointed! First of all, the atmosphere - grey/white "gustavian", so not exactly cosy and the floor covering seemed to be hospital style uniform grey linoleum. A few coloured candle holders might have helped plus the addition of fresh (or even good quality artificial) flowers! Ev...

I just love this place, rubbing shoulders with embassies, Parisian financiers and lawyers. It 's maybe got only eight tables but the restaurant has so much style and elegance. We found the service first class and so importantly the maitre 'd was very happy to help us with our restaurant french rather than just move immediately to his vastly better English. A very cool move. The highlights of this very personal eating experience are numerous. The wine list is extraordinary and priced at an affordable level. The food presentation is pleasing, the starters were dreamy although maybe the main courses were too avant garde for our tastes albeit very competent .....however if you are a lover of des...

This place (the ground floor is as big as a living room) serves food at Michelin level much cheaper prices. They have won awards for quality-price in Paris and my experience there reinforced that reputation. The owner, ex-chef and overall good bloke was very present, always explaining all ingredients and being very helpful. He (and his chef) are visibly very foodie and internationally so.The menu changes every week apparently, and seem to regularly contain some very interesting ingredients. The wine was chosen expertly and suited the slightly spicy food chosen. You get some idea of the food from the carte posted on the website, but be prepared for the actual menu to be different. I was told th...

We celebrated my husband's birthday at Les Messugues. He'd been there before with friends, and liked the menu and service so much that he chose it for his birthday celebration. He was right Les Messugues did not disappoint. The service was both courteous and friendly, and without exception the best service I've had in Paris in the two and a half years I've lived here. The staff catered for our group of 9 seamlessly and accommodated our requests, such as re arranging the seating and providing an off the menu birthday cake. The menu was varied and the food was excellent. I very much recommend Les Messugues.

Back to Les Messugues again (1 month later) for a different menu, but with the same excellent accueil and friendly comportement of the owner. Menu again was very interesting with some original mixes of flavours. I was disappointed with the cote de boeuf unfortunately - too tough, not seasoned enough and the meat was not very marbled but otherwise, everything was spot on. The Julienas bottle was a great choice to go with both the cod (with black ink spaghetti) AND the cote de boeuf. The bowl of fresh girolles and garlic was extraordinary.Returning again later this month...

Luckily I was here with a local friend as I speak like 10 words of French. He ordered some neat dish and I usually stay away from meat dishes in Europe as they dont seem to be as good as the USA> this was a special and I could not tell you what it was but it was basically like a braised meat and mashed potatoes.. It was really really good. A bit fatty on the meat but he taste was great!

Discreet place, impeccable service, excellent meal, delicious dessert, perfect wine and above all, affordable prices... All in all, just go there, you cannot miss such a place... Thank you to the Team of Les Messugues... Cheers.

I paid €18 for literally 20 THIN SLICES of tasteless mushroom and a Diet Coke. Biggest ripoff that I've ever seen in Paris (and I've lived here for 10 years and have seen many). Avoid.
