My colleagues and I were in Angers for 1 Sunday night and needed a place to eat. Les Varietes was close to our hotel and one of the few places open on a Sunday night so we decided to give it a try.Our waitress spoke enough English for me to communicate with her using my broken French. We tried a couple of appetizers, one being the mozzarella and fresh tomatoes which was great and the cheese was very fresh. For our main course two of us ordered the Andouillette, but only one of us actually read the menu and knew what we were getting. I think we possibly did not get the best from this restaurant....because we were just looking for a quick bite after a long day travelling!The menu was very comprehensive and inviting.We chose pate and mussels and both enjoyed a burger to follow!I don't usually eat burgers but had seen one arrive at another table....it looked great...and I DID enjoy THAT burger!The staff were friendly and efficient....and did speak reasonably good English which was a help as our French is a bit rubbish!If we had stayed in Angers longer we would probably have returned to get the best from this restaurant!
After a long day we were too tired to venture north into the main commercial centre, so this bar/restaurant set on the main Boulevard Foch looked like it could provide reasonable food in a relaxing bar atmousphere.Whilst the experience was unsophistcated, it did the trick. We had two Pave de Bueuf and one nicoise salad. The portions were large and perfectly tasty. They have a fair selection of drinks and the service was helpful.The total cost (with 4 drinks), for 3 people, was Euro 61.20
A lunch break with varieties, allowed me a nice surprise. Indeed, the à la carte fish is associated with capres, carrots, safran and nuts. A treat! Compagnated with a Perrier, the addition remained reasonable. In the rush, the service was quick. Promised, next time I discover the velvety of potimarron, bits and foie gras.

I took a little hot chocolate with my brother who took a Viennese chocolate and my mother a Viennese coffee and we all found that they were great! But the music was strong enough and there was a lot of broua I recommend despite everything Beautiful Dish Supplement
