L'escale Blanche - Reservar una mesa

This place is right nextdoor to where we are staying, so I have seen over the past 10 days just how popular it is for lunch, apres ski and dinner. Service is slick and polite, even on the busiest of days and the place has a really good atmosphere without being too rowdy. I ate there twice both times everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant has a modern feel which makes a welcome change to some of the more old fashioned looking places and the menu has a good selection of old favourites along with plenty of different dishes which you can’t get elsewhere which can come as a welcome relief after a week of cookie cutter menus of pizza, raclette, fondue and tartiflette for lunch and dinner. We visited twice during the short ski break in December. Firstly lunch. We seemed to be in the minority by sitting inside, despite it being a blue sky day. Maybe because it was chuffin' cold or maybe because of the smokers. Anyway, we were after lunch peak-time, so no problems getting a table and our order quickly served. Knowing that portions can be huge, we did our standard: a pizza and a salad and then shared between the two of us. Very happy with both, nice food, good portions, and reasonably priced. the team in our hotel take off Thursday, so we had to go somewhere else to dinner. we have selected l’Escale blanche, as it is packed for a lot of the day with many skiers on the terrace. the restaurant is located in the ski center of tignes le lac and the menu had a large selection of mountain and others. we were warmly welcomed at the arrival and the four adults and two children received an attractive table with a view of the mountains. we decided on two courses principally and dessert. for the first we had authentic pizza, well prepared and served raclette and excellent Argentine steaks. all were excellent, but were surpassed in quality by the desserts, the excellent ice, chocolate mousse...

At the base of the Palafour lift, you could not get any closer to the piste. Service is prompt for either drinks or food and quality is good. One member of staff is a little stern, but he means no harm . Music is varied and does not grind on your nerves like some party stuff . Used their offer a few times during our week in Tignes and can recommend.

stopping before the mass of other skiers, I was able to pick up a corner table directly seen on the square and the slopes. Very good chicken wok, charming waiter. prices a little high but not more than other restaurants in the resort.
