Hotel L'esplanade is an outstanding hotel. The location is fantastic, with a superb view overlooking the Dordogne River valley. The rooms were well appointed and well equipped. The service was impeccable Hotel L'explanade is a family run establishment, and everyone we met were very friendly and solicitous of our every need. The dinner we had at the hotel restaurant was one of the finest we have ever experienced – the surroundings were magical –a beautiful dining room with a spectacular view of the Dordogne River Valley, the service was flawless, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful one night stay and would be delighted to visit there again.
We knew we wanted to head to the best vantage point to watch the sun go down and boy we found it. The restaurants terrace was magnificent. The sun has gone down and so have a couple of aperitifs so it was time for dinner and boy this didn’t disappoint either. The food was excellent as was the service. Dogs were allowed into the restaurant which was a real added bonus. The ambience was very welcoming and relaxing with attentive but with non intrusive service. Will definitely return. Thank you.
attracted by the collectors' label and ravines of this establishment overlooking the valley of the dordogne. refined and inventive terroir cuisine. too much waiting between the dishes however. the staff is not warm, it deceives during stay. the bedroom (of the floor) is not the most recent but is clean and comfortable, the carpet of the corridors, houlalà! the quiet night is guaranteed in any case.
We spent great evenings in this restaurant. First of all, we have highly appreciated the delicious dishes (and the terroir) served: refinement while being quite copied. We were warmly welcomed and advised by the servers, especially coral and maxim always ready to advance our expectations. we will certainly return to this next year for our perigord holiday.
We spent two nights in this grand hotel in October. We had a room with fantastic views over the valley. The room was very well kept clean and with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly. Parking can be complicated near the hotel, but there is paid parking about 200m away.
