Started the meal with some cream of mushroom soup which was pretty good. needed a little salt and pepper but overall promising. I was then very quickly let down by the escargot au gratin. The escargot was smothered with mozzarella and had very little flavor. At this point my expectations were not very high for my Salmon Supreme, but to say that I was supremely disappointed would be an understatement. Smothered in some kind of yellowish sauce which visually was unappealing my dinner was also lacking in flavor. But the most egregious sin for the salmon was that it was way overcooked. Bar-brasserie that serves food. Appears to be a busy place in RDL they have a healthy if not huge selection of beer. I found the dining room here quite small and therefore loud. After a busy day of work I prefer a much more quiet pace. However if lively dining halls that serve drinks is your liking you may enjoy this place. On my visit I went with a Thai shrimp stir fry. There were a large selection of fresh vegetables and it was okay. Not wow....this is an awesome meal. Just okay. Really a doable place and it may be more to your liking but the menu was a tad boring for me but who's to say you may enjoy it! With many restaurants to choose from in this area of town, we were glad we picked this one. We were able to view an English menu - very helpful because we couldn't read the French one. Our server also spoke to us in English and was so pleasant and answered our questions regarding menu choices. Wine and beer was on special between 5-7 pm. We took advantage of that as well as the half price wings. Only two flavours of wings on the menu. They were small but good. The calamari was tender and tasty served with a nice dipping sauce. This restaurant has a nice feel to it. It's good for all different ages.
I love coming to RDL on business, it's a beautiful, laid back, little city right on the St. Lawrence river. There are lots of great places to eat, but every time I come here I have to eat at L'Estaminet! It always has great food, good service and a relaxing environment. It's a great place to kickback and just chill at the end of the day. I always get the 10oz steak smothered in sautéed onions and peppers. It comes out sizzling hot, and includes a loaded baked potato, and garlic bread. Trust me, the next time you are in RDL stop by, you will not be disappointed!

Superb lunch stop passing thru to the Maritimes. Looked up places to dine and chose L'estaminet because of menu variety and beer selection. I had the tokinese (sp?) i.e. Chicken noodle bowl in a delish rich broth. My partner chose the lamb burger with arugula salad and fresh parmigiana. Fries came along and they were devoured as believe they may be double fried....devilishly Divine. Beer was Hickson IPA 6.2%. Nice hops and flavor ibu53. Easy to enjoy on warm day.
My wife and I were in the middle of a long drive and decided to get away from the fast food stops. We just randomly picked this one based on the score from reviewers and we were so happy with what we got! The restaurant itself is super nice, everything that we tasted was great! I was a little nervous when I saw how varied the menu was, but everything was really really good. I'd definitely recommend it!
Great little restaurant in a beautiful part of town. Nice ambiance inside, friendly service, tasty food and generous portion. We had a vegetarian Thai curry soup, thin crust pizza, quesadillas, spaghetti and all were very tasty. Good prices for high quality food and very clean restaurant
So first of all, my French is very rusty(borderlining on deplorable). The staff was very helpful and understanding. Calamari was very good. As was the Thai dish. Great atmosphere on the patio, and a decent selection of beer and wine. All in all a great dining experience!! Merci!!

L'accueil est enjoué et professionnel, le restaurant est un peu bruyant, mais la clientèle s'en accommode facilement, le lieu y étant propice. Le personnel est efficace et de bon conseil. La viande est de très bonne qualité et la cuisson était parfaite.
