This is the only restaurant in the historic medieval town and it sits at the base of it along the main road. While not picturesque from the outside, the place has charm because you can sit outside under a protective roof and get a really decent meal for a great price (30 Euros for all that follows). My husband had a tasty steak with ratatouille and a puree plus a glass of house white wine to accompany his meal, and I had a very large salad fresh bread. We shared a three scoop bowl of ice cream (cassis, chocolate, pastichio) for dessert. The restaurant overlooks the railroad, hills and river which was very pleasant while enjoying our meal. Having been to see the viaduct at Millau, we were looking for somewhere for lunch and almost missed this little gem. 7kms from Millau on the rd41 dir Compregnac in the village of Peyre, it is perched above the river on the left hand side going away from Millau. There is a small car park below which is easier to access from the other direction if you have a big car. If you want to visit the viewpoint to see the viaduct, do that first as then you are facing it the right direction to drive in. The covered terrace has lovely views and the menu as far as the salads go are excellent. We didn't try anything else as the salads were more than enough. Fabulous food in a wonderful setting, very small but perfect menu, views to die for. Best of all it wasn’t expensive, salads huge but we had pork cheeks which were sensational and others had the trout which was exquisite

This is a really charming place, right beside the river in this beautiful village with a remarkable view of the Millau Viaduct. The service was friendly and efficient and the food was simple but good.
