Maybe ppl know when your having a bad day, and I forsure was having a bad week. Just problem after problem so I decided to treat myself to some sweets to sweeten my day. And the guy who helped me out was so kind and helpful! Offered me a sample of anything to try as he noticed it was my first time there. Everything looked delicious ! The cakes also nice and big and pretty. I decided to get a couple cookies and chocolate pastries and he even gave me some items theyre popular for on the house to try . That made my week all the much better because I love pastries. I tried out the the dulce de leche cookies which were amazing : my favorite and im glad they did it right. The horn shaped pastry was delicious! Had some sort of fruit jam in the middle that was not very sweet or too tart but nice with the pastry . The chocolate one was also really good, had some nuts inside as well . the other pastry, I forgot the name. The puff shaped one was definitely a must try for others ! Nice puff pastry with a center filling and slight lemon taste.
The dark chocolate mousse cake (yellow cake and chocolate mousse layers) cake cost way too much $55 .Texture of the cake was grainy and chocolate mousse was bitter and stale. It tasted old. In addition, the chocolate mousse didn't settle well causing the cake to collapse. Bought this Friday March 24 for his bday dinner for 6 guests, and yet none of us didn't finish our piece, not anyone wants second. Until now, it is Sunday,. no one wanted to eat the cake. I also bought a piece of the berry cake. Texture of the cake is grainy as well. For me, I like my cakes smooth and moist.The two cakes I bought at Lido are no where near that texture. So no I won't come back. I shall continue buying my cakes at Torrance Bakery. I just wished they were closer, that's why i was trying Lido Bakery, because it's closer to home. Well, back to Torrance Bakery.
Nice staff. I got the coconut cream slice and I thought it was solid it wasn’t sweet but too much cream I think one layer would’ve been perfect. The cake was moist but also dry at the same time. The cheesecake had an interesting taste it wasn’t like a New York style I tasted a very small lemon zesty taste and it was really dense. I got two slices and paid $20 in total. I thought it was expensive for a slice but they are big so it does make up for the money spent. Two people can share a slice. It was good but didn’t exceed my expectations to want to come again.
