When it first opened I drove past and gave the place three months.... once again WRONG. The place is booming. They have nailed the café holy grail - the combination of food, service and ambiance sorted.Seriously the food is memorable I am still thinking about the lunch I had there.....(normally I can't remember what I had for lunch yesterday). I have made a few beetroot and haloumi salads in my time, and have ordered many a salad for lunch. I had their beetroot and haloumi salad and it was amazing. This café is in the Goodwood area, but Hyde Park is probably a better district locator. This is a little café with a great array of lighting fixtures, spotlessly painted in white with aquamarine accents. There are a couple of old stained glass windows. The café might hold 20, plus another dozen in the adjoining covered lane which is where we sit. We come for our usual coffee and cake, and find this a very enjoyable experience. I have no hesitation in giving this a 4 star rating, but 5 star? Obviously a large café wuth 42 varieties of cake or a view of Mount Cook would have some advantages(!), but what could they have done better? It was noisy as there were several large groups in the small dining area and we had to ask for the front door to be closed so we could warm up on a wintry morning but those inconveniences melted away when our food arrived! The 5 of us all had a different combination of eggs and sides and we were all impressed with the flavour and quality of our dishes. The "sous vide" eggs are brilliant ( if you like runny "poached" eggs, which I do!!) and the tomatoes, mushrooms, greens and caramelised onions all received rave reviews from whomever had them. The only complaint was very minor - the knives weren't quite sharp enough to easily cut the excellent sour dough toast. We'll be back for sure.

We had a family engagement to celebrate with the newly engaged couple flying in for a quick visit from Brisbane. We approached Marty to see if he could accommodate about 30 guests for a Saturday night. Marty opened especially for us and put on a superb spread with fantastic service.Thanks Marty, I know that the engaged couple were very impressed with what you were able to do at such short notice. Made a special trip here to have staff breakfast meeting on the way to a trade fair. We were greeted by the lovely Sarah! Coffee was great as was the meal! Service was efficient and staff were very welcoming ! A wonderful healthy start to the day!!

Great food with fresh ingredients. Good vegetarian options. Great place for catch-ups as it's not loud. Highly recommend!
