The atmosphere at the Lilie was upbeat and well occupied yet it wasn't too noisy as there were many areas of the restaurant to find seating with sections outside, inside on the main floor as well as a separate room beyond the main area and additional seating upstairs. We were seated at a single table between the main dining area and the side area next to the kitchen entrance which suited us perfectly as we were a bit removed from the louder sections yet we were able to enjoy the overall atmosphere. The decor is unique in that it serves as an art gallery for people to display and sell their creations. Our friend who lives in Bremen highly recommended the Flammkuchen which she said is a specialty of the Lilie. The bread is similar to but thinner than an American flatbread with a texture more similar to a cracker or fried tortilla. There isn't anything quite like it. We enjoyed it so much that I intend to track down a recipe for it to replace our traditional homemade pizza crust when I return home. We tried the Tandoori and the Rindersteakstreifen. The Tandoori was a little bit sweet with a yellow curry sauce, chicken, peppers, and cheese. This was VERY GOOD!!! The Rindersteakstreifen was also good with tender beef strips, mushrooms, onion, mozzarella cheese, and it was topped with arugula lettuce. Both of these were prepared perfectly with tender meats, nicely textured veggies, and perfectly melted cheese. Our friend had the tomato soup which was homemade with a wonderful flavor and was served with a home made bread. This was a very nice restaurant to visit after a long day of sightseeing. We were seated quickly and the food didn't take too long to arrive. For the most part, we were accepted well although our waitress seemed a little grumpy that it took us a little longer than normal to decide what to order since we don't speak German. However, that wouldn't stop up from eating here again since everything else was top notch.

The food is great, the menu is constantly rebuilt and peppered with tasty seasonal items like asparagus or mushrooms. They have amazing salads you can customize to suite your salad cravings by adding cheese, meat, shrimp or whatever you want and you can also choose from three great dressings. They also have great craft beer, a nice selection of wines and incredible dark hot chocolate.

Enjoyed dinner here on a Sunday night with a friend. The staff was wonderful, the food was fresh and full of flavour and the atmosphere was lovely. Definitely worth going to if you're in Findorff area!

Very nicely located to have dinner outside, if weather allows. The cooking is simple (flammkuchen, salad) but prepared with taste. Nice beers and selection of wines. Reasonable prices.
