We were in Limoges sight seeing, a lovely day we had just been to the cathedral and thought we'd like a bite to eat as it was 2pm.Nearly everywhere was shut or shutting up, something I still find hard to understand in France. We are in the cathedral area, loads of people milling around and the restaurants shut.So eventually found this Irish bar, sat down and they asked what we wanted to drink, so we ordered drinks, they brought them, my husbands was some kind of bitter when he had ordered Guinness, so I tried to get someones attention to tell them but they (the staff) were all too busy chatting to some customers who I assume were their mates!!So eventually got the eye of a girl and asked for the menu (which wasn't that extensive anyway) and was informed they had finished serving food and were shutting. We were furious as they could have told us that before we ordered drinks otherwise I wouldn't have given them a cent of my money. So we drank up, paid up and went off to a supermarket and bought some food.I have never understood when in a tourist area and lots of tourists about and they shut restaurants at lunch time.We went to Sarlat and Bergerac a few days later and the restaurants and shops all open, perhaps Limoges and the restaurants there ought to take a lessons from these other towns!!I wouldn't recommend this Irish bar to eat or drink, they seemed too busy talking to their mates to worry about paying customers.
