The Lively Catch restaurant in Caringbah has stood the test of time and has been a local favourite for over 20years. I followed the chef from my favourite restaurant at the time - Le Sands at Brighton Le Sands to this friendly food haven.I haven't been disappointed the chef has continued to produce interesting and delicious food from their amazing lobster topped house oysters, slow cooked lamb shoulder or their generous sea food platters. Their dessert tasting plate is great to share if you want to try more then one of their offerings and believe me you will want to! They have a 2 or 3 course special during the week which is great value too.The prices are average for a fine dining restaurant...
Recently went on a small work section night out at this location.Food was fantastic with the freedom of good choice form the menu instead of being subjected to a large set menu that groups usually are imposed withMeals were on good size and delicious! We had a meal here in a Saturday night. First let me say the staff are fantastic and the seating very comfortable with lush padded seats etc giving an upmarket feel. But you go to a restaurant for the food don't you.Entrees were fine but basic, oysters and calamari.Two had the special of Barramundi which was terrible and the fish and chips at $33 was 3 small pieces of fish with a side of chips and a stringy course salad. The fish and chips was supposed to be John Dory but was mirror Dory, a much cheaper and not as nice substitute.The barramundi was skinless which is a clue (Nile perch or imported farmed "barramundi") and was very fishy tasting and to make it worse only luke warm. Group booking for 23 handled exceptionally well by staff. Entree of salt and pepper squid was beautifully cooked. Soft shell crab looked delicious. Main of lamb rump medium rare was a standout beautifully cooked accompanied by potato miellfulle. Declined dessert but my partner had chocolate fondant which was warm and runny. Value for money and amazing service with such a large booking

What started out as a normal birthday get together, ended up a very entertaining and fun evening because of the wonderful staff. They were attentive without being annoying and they knew what was on the menu and could recommend dishes. The meals were delicious and from the champagne cocktail to the coffee after dessert, we found everything to be great. Thanks for a wonderful night!
We loved this place ...On this particular night there was not a spare seat available. The food and service were faultless. I had a the trio of fish for the main and highly recommend. Will be back. The best dining experience in the shire so far.
Had a great Birthday dinner. Food and service highly recommended. Jeremy( chef/owner) and staff was very accommodating and make us felt very welcome. Definitely will be back soon.
This restaurant is a little more formal than most in the Shire but it is worth putting on your 'Sunday Best' for this dining experience. Meals and service were both excellent.
