A birthday treat for a friend of mine made a good excuse to eat out in a Dieppe restaurant we had not tried before. I booked a table for 2 at l’O 2Mer for a Friday lunch. Access to the entrance is via a gentle but rather unattractive ramp from the promenade directly to the pebble beach. We were pleasantly surprised with what lay behind the entrance, though. An elegantly furnished comfortable looking room and bar, one side looked directly at the sea and the other side the swimming pool from a glazed in terrace. We were shown to a sea side table and took in the uninterrupted view of the beach and the dramatic skyline of darkening clouds, before looking over the menus. From a wide ranging choic...
We chose this restaurant for the seafood and location a short walk from our hotel. The location is a bit hard to see, but the restaurant is under the boardwalk. The indoor seats have a view of the ocean, the back and outdoor views are of a pool. We chose to sit outdoors, they have heaters and a large awning for shade and rain cover (which of course it did rain). The meal was good, well prepared and very tasty. A nice wine was suggested and dessert of creme brulee was very nice.
Slightly difficult to find next to the swimming pool complex with entrance on teh promenade alongside the beach. You can sit at table on the beach but it was too windy and not warm enough to do this. Excellent meal. I had the crevettes 6 large ones so almost a meal in themselves followed by turbot and sea bass. All absolutely delicious.
Went there two nights running! We both had the turbot and it was absolutely delicious. Also had tartare beef which was fabulous but I couldn’t eat it all!, Staff are lovely and very attentive. We stayed at the Mercure opposite and suggested LO’2 opened a hotel because they would be amazing!
