I ordered the salmon. I started eating at the thin side of the fish, and it was good. I ate all of my asparagus (thinnest asparagus I've ever seen...like spaghetti) and half of my rice (tasted like boxed chicken flavored rice). When I got to the thicker half of the salmon, it was completely raw in the middle. I picked it apart to try and find a bite that was cooked, but it was raw. I asked the waitress if we could get half off the price since it was inedible. She said she could offer me a free dessert, which I did not want since I am trying to eat healthy. She said she would have to talk to the manager, and I asked her to do so. She seemed stressed, and I would soon find out why. The manager came to talk to me, and I explained the situation...or at least tried to explain. He rudely cut me off and said that salmon is a flaky fish and it's never cooked through...it's done based on temperature I know how to cook. I know what salmon is. I have eaten salmon hundreds of times, and not once has it been raw in the middle. He said that the meal was almost gone and if I had told him from the beginning he'd be able to do something about it. There was literally a half piece of fish broken up on the plate and half a portion of the rice. How am I supposed to bring something up at the beginning of the meal when the raw part of the fish wasn't noticed until halfway through? He was so rude and insulting, acting as if I wanted something for free when I spent over $120 on food and drinks. I don't need a free meal. I don't need a free dessert. I don't even need half off of a raw piece of fish. It would have just been nice to have a bit of understanding and an apology instead of an argument and condescending attitude. Incidentally, we did end up taking the free dessert for the kids; a cookie skillet sundae. The cookie was burnt. I will never return to this restaurant. ??
ashley was our bartender/server. ordered food, came completely different. the place was not busy. four people at the bar and no tables when we came in. even in the 45 minutes there was never a refill or was even asked for a refill. the food was not stellar and the service was definitiv also not. I will not come back to this facility, nor will I refer to someone else.
we ordered the bone in wings and tried 3 different sauces. mango habanero, honey siracha, honey bbq. we also had the bang bang shrimp and fries. everything was fresh, crispy and delicious. from all the eating places we tried during our Chicago trip, the local bar was the top 2 (even if it is outside of chicago in wood dale). we will definitely return when we go back.
