I enjoyed a great lunch at this delightful cafe. Booking was easy through their online booking system. First I enjoyed the best coffee I've had so far in Aarau (I had a soya cappuccino and then a delicious and very nicely presented Thai red curry with Tofu. This cafe also has great outdoor undercover seating, which makes it a reliable choice in this season where Co Vid restrictions prevent us from sitting inside, and rain can potentially spoil our outdoor plans. The service was also excellent, and the ambience is very cute. Thanks Lockentopf team :
Expecting this to be a café and bar, the exquisite food was a wonderful surprise. I made several return trips after such a great experience to continue to explore the menu. Food and drinks are delicious and well presented, the atmosphere is inviting and relaxed. The service is stupendous, even though I speak no German, they were welcoming and assisted with the menu. Can't recommend this place enough.

I am so sorry for the one star review, I changed it to five stars I never reviewed anything before. The meal was excellent, the staff was very friendly, and they all spoke excellent english!

It's a very tiny restaurant so the kitchenspace is also small. The thai-curry and chicken salade are GF but let the waitress know that you are celiac.

My favorite place for brunch and dinner in Aarau! The friendliest staff ever, they amaze me every time. The food is super delicious.

Service overwhelmed, waited 1 hour for an aperitif plate, atmosphere uncomfortable. Don't go there again. No longer recommended.
