You can get a good steak almost anywhere these days and cooking one is not an art. Buy good meat and you will probably be able to do it yourself. So let's get down to what really makes an impression. The service here is terrible,...it took absolutely ages even to get a menu and getting served was worse than having teeth pulled. My wife and I went here with friends two couples at the recommendation of one of the other couples. As mentioned in other reviews the view is fantastic, where else could you have such scenery outside of a safari? It was our first time in the Lodge what should be in there opinion ,,beef finest. The restaurant itself looked very cozy, very professional outfit of the service and nice atmosphere. As we sit down the Waiter gave us the Menus and asked for the...drinks. We ordered a bottle of water. Unfortunately the Wine Menu was brought only on request (what I dont expect from a restaurant in this price category). So we ordered a bottle of Wine which was very good. if it is impossible to find tables in the predertaunus in any decent restaurant German summer sun of lodge still has some and it seems for obvious reasons. the personal ranges from untrained to simply rude. The Lodge is a nice restaurant overlooking the Opel Zoo. If you are luck enough to get a good seat near a window, you might get to watch some animals in the Zoo while you dine. The restaurant is very nice inside and we usually...get decent service. I have never really been wowed by the service, but also never severely disappointed. Once you get through the menu that weighs between 5-10 kg.. you will probably order a steak. I usually always get a Filet and I am usually happy with it. You can definitely get the same quality elsewhere for less (but not significantly less), but we go for the convenience of where it is and for the generally good wine selection.

Whenever I come back to frankfurt, I will definitely visit this restaurant as it has a beautiful view. I always ordered the same field salad with honey dressing and bark strip. in the august myself I went there three times and every time the bark and...salad became smaller, I am not sure why. the waiters were nice, but there's probably a waiter? we always sat in a place in the middle when we wanted to sit on the balcony to have a better look at the animals. after him it was reserved. we were there almost 2 hours we 5 empty spots and no reservation signs were placed. the place was empty. very restless with the last visit.

really expensive for what it is! at the beginning they showed us the medaillon in foil when I asked if the boil this, but this is only the flesh they show all night and then throw away. the meat tastes. like nothing (not only my new yorker strip also the filet and the chuteaubriand) then we asked about salt and pfeffer it took our waiter 15 minutes to bring it my meat was cold at this place. So all I say it is not worth spending her money here, there is much better place to go.

We have been dining at the Lodge for the second time now. Overall the impression was the same: Especially during summer days you have a unique setting with a good view at the giraffes and buffalos in front of the restaurant. The quality of the...food was very good the wine list is ok. Overall its a pricy experience..but worth it. Definitely a recommendation.

Had a nice dinner here with a friend. This place specializes in meat and steaks in particular. They are on full display. We had a very nice albeit expensive dinner. Service was professional if a bit cool. Food was very good. Coconut soup. Myer Lansky...(meatloaf with egg) Sicilian Cabernet.

overall, eating was fantastic and the atmosphere warm and friendly with fast service. not complaining - except it is in the middle of nothing and impossible to get one over. (but they called a taxi for us)

Great location with view on the zebras, giraffes and gnus. Great starter plates and steaks, but a bit overpriced.
