We had a quick lunch in this countryside eatery, located close to the Aare river the first Saturday of March 2024 before going out on a bird photoshoot. We chose fish from a rather restricted menu and were served deep fried trout. Unfortunately, the high temperature in the oil will overcook the thin filets of fish, contrary to if a chunk of haddock had been used like in a classical fish and chips dish. Like often in Swiss restaurants, potatoes were undercooked. The service is impeccable and the wine list is rich, filled with both domestic and foreign options. We chose wine by the glass that was good but not cheap for what was in the glass. Finally, we always remove one star when being billed for tap water despite having an alcoholic beverage.
