The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious! The Barbacoa tacos were the best, and the churros were perfectly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. However, as a Mexican, I was disappointed that the tacos did not come with onions, cilantro, or salsa. This is the reason for my 4-star rating. I would recommend asking for these toppings in the special instructions portion when ordering.
The service at this restaurant is fantastic and welcoming. We tried the pozole and it was one of the best we've ever had, especially considering we're from the Bay Area. The tacos were only $2.50 each, which is a great deal. The restaurant was clean, the salsa bar was well-stocked, and parking was easy. This might just become my go-to spot every time I'm in South Lake Tahoe from now on.
If you're looking for a protein-packed meal, avoid ordering the meat plate at this restaurant. The dish consisted of just three small pieces of meat surrounded by a majority of onions and squash. I could have easily cooked up some veggies and beans at home instead of ordering this disappointing dish.
They seem to be less interested in my consistent ordering. Im loyal customer and my simple request for extra red chili seems to be to much of an ask. I will no longer be ordering from their establishment. Thank you Reserva una mesa ahora
