I don't really frequent bars so this was stepped out on faith for me and it absolutely didn't disappoint. Security was present and did check id's so that was cool. The music wasn't overbearing like in a few other places I have been to. Let's start on thedeliciousness of the food though. We both ordered burgers that were well seasoned and properly cooked medium. She had the burgerthat was shaved steak and I had the burger with aioli sauce and I think a pepper. The loaded fries were great too as well as thewings with the old bay dry rub. Honestly I have not been to a Bar Louie in more than 10 years. The stars aligned this nice Sunday afternoon as I was in Downtown Royal Oak, so I said why not? My memories of Bar Louie were very positive so I ordered what I used to like. The glamorousHollywood decor has not changed a bit. That is neither good or bad. I started with their phenomenal Bloody Mary I so fondlyremembered. The good news is it?s still phenomenal. The Bad news? WORST SERVICE IMAGINABLE. Please do not support this place. I placed an order through THEIR app for food to be delivered to someone going through cancer treatments w/ mealtrain. Not only did they not have the food ready, I had received an order confirmation through my email to show it was ready and paid for but when I got there I heard everything about it being doordashes problem (not door dash), then someone else had already picked it up (no one else with my unique name), then they said it was my credit my card or give a discount. Then they ran the SAME CARD that was apparently declined and it magically worked.
I sat at the bar and had one beer and an order of wings. During the time I was eating no one asked if I need anything or if everything was okay. I finished my beer and wings and waited for 5 minutes with an empty beer and dirty dishes. I did want one more beer but no one came over to me even with an empty glass. I went to the bathroom and when I was going towards the bar where I was sitting they made sure I was going to pay. I did pay of course and I did not complain. I paid $28 and some change for one order of wings and One beer. If you're in Royal Oak don't stop here.

Drinks are horrible at the bar, way to sweet! Then my father had a burger that was suppose to include onion rings and the manger Todd was very rude with my sister asking why didn’t you say something before you ate the burger. It was because they said they were going to bring it right out when they delivered the burger but never did. Only reason we were here is because the place we wanted to go stopped stopped serving food. Menu is very limited to bar food. Jennifer the bartender was great and attentive but we were very turned off by Todd and will not be returning.
Tipping is objective. A restaurant does not get to dictate a 20% service charge in the form of a compulsory tip. For 20% I received barely adequate service from a sleepy zoomer that could hardly muster enough energy to service two tables in a otherwise empty restaurant. If you want to tack on this service charge you had better train up your staff to go out on the floor and earn it. Otherwise you're just swindling you customers. PS Take the tip option off of your credit card terminals. Its just a sleazy money grab at that point.

Not very friendly, not enough staff or bartenders that know what their doing! Also be careful they will charge you almost 30% gratuity during happy hour! I was served red, dirty Martinis and then the ran out of stuffed olives. How do you serve martinis with no olives? Orderd the boneless wings and they notified me the ran out! Sub par bar by any means and had been one of my favorite places for the last few years. I'm sorry to say, Imma have to let you go.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and I want to give a shout out to our server, Ajee! She had great energy, provided great service, and the food and mimosas were delicious. She made our birthday brunch experience amazing for all of us. My adult children and 7-year-old granddaughter were very happy. Thank you, Ajee! Your excellent service reminded me of home in Chicago. I would give more stars if I could!
