As a very infrequent visitor to London I anticipated that a quiet few drinks with family might be pricey, compared to those at home in the South West. I was predictably astonished at the sheer vulgarity of the level of the excessive charges. £30.00 bought us 3 x drinks that would have cost us half that in Devon. My bemusement turned to anger when, having returned with drinks from the bar,I found that I had been charged a 12.5% service charge . How utterly ridiculous is that not satisfied with exorbitant charges, I am then clobbered with an unsolicited charge for fetching my own drinks. Quite extraordinary.
The Hyde Lobby Bar at the recently refurbished Royal Lancaster Hotel in Paddington area of London is a great place to get together with friends or business associates. Quite, sophisticated, modern and elegent with great service. Sparkling white marble floors and nice mood lighting lends an air of cool. Full bar, with an extensive champagne selection. Also highly recommend Nipa an excellent Thai restaurant on the second floor of this hotel.
During our stay at the Royal Lancaster, we visited the bar with the intention of having a few drinks before heading out for the evening. However, the exceptional service we received led us to return after dinner. Thanos and his team did a fantastic job creating personalized cocktails for us that were both unique and delicious. It was an amazing experience and we are grateful we went. Thank you for making my birthday weekend so special!
The seating is excellent and spacious, and the service is good. However, I found it to be expensive for this location. It is a great place to relax and enjoy a quiet conversation.

I celebrated my wife's birthday dinner at this restaurant and it was truly incredible. The attention to detail in creating a memorable evening was exceptional.
Great service and good attention from the staff, didn't get that buzzy even though the very busy location. Still possible to have good conversations.
you name it they serve it cocktails beers larger champagne prosecco prices are reasonable compared to some in London and service outstanding
