In respect of other restaurant's in town this is not a quick dinner. But that was nice however because we went straight to the wine list it was a full 30 minutes before a drop touched our lips which from our view is too long. The tuna starter was stunning and my wife enjoyed the slow cooked egg. Mains were varied. The duo of lamb was lovely but it needed a carb. A garnish of peas wasn't enough. My wife had the langoustine (1) with a massive piece of fish mousse. Some what out of balance quantity wise. The star was in the depth of flavour in accompanying bisque. A year since my last visit, and the standards here are as high as ever, and I cannot praise this restaurant enough.Service is excellent, and the staff and owners friendly.The food compares with any Michelin starred restaurant I have eaten in, yet l'Oursin manage to keep prices in line with the more rustic, local restaurants. The detail and subtlety of the dishes are what fine dining is all about, and the little touches such as Amuse Bouche, Pre-Dessert and complimentary limoncello add to what is already a great value meal.Excellence all the way!

We choose the discovery menu, this is the way to go. Even if for an American traveler, portion may seem small, you will have so many of these wonderful plates landing in front of you that it turn into a challenge when you reach the desert and coffee to be able to eat all of it. Quality wise, way above average, reaching even exceptional on multiple occasions.

Whoa! This unassuming, smallish restaurant delivers! The type of place you want to go back over and over again.Feast for the palate! We received outstanding service with every attention to detail. An appetiser tray, amuse bouche and dessert were delivered gratis. An amazing find during a summer stay in La Clusaz. Don't miss it.
