Thrilled to get a last minute reservation for 6 and l arrived early to explore the wine list which interestingly enough is listed by price.After a few minutes l had to work out whether to drink a well priced new release that l was desperate to try or risk something really old at the same price. It the meantime the rest of the family arrived and they started getting very busy. We ordered the food which seems simple but always exceeds expectation and took the owners recommendations which were spot on. We were welcomed by the manager who was initially very kind. It was my first trip to the restaurant and I wanted to experience this Beaune landmark. On first inspection of the wine list I noticed prices were significantly higher than pretty much everywhere else in Burgundy we have eaten. I asked for a couple specific bottles I had heard they may have off list and was immediately rejected. Eventually I found a white and was pressured by the manager into ordering a less desirable vintage. It was a regret. Eventually the food came and it was passable but nothing to return for. de passage à Beaune pour visiter les hospices, nous avons mangé dans un petit restaurant au fond d'une cour, le restaurant "ma cuisine" ; Quelle belle surprise !!!, que du bonheur à cette table. Vraiment sans exagération nous avons tout apprécié la sobriété des lieux, l'accueil, la table simple mais les assiettes "un bonheur" un goût, une saveur, des mets raffinés, vraiment faite une halte dans ce restaurant vous ne le regretterez pas. Menu à 28 €, la Carte de 13€ à 39€. Les vins excellents bien-sûr mais un peu chers. Nous sommes ravis qu'en France il existe encore des restaurants de qualité. Ein relativ kleines Restaurant mit wirklich gehobener, aber nicht abgehobener Küche. Sehr hohe Qualität der Speisen. Ganz besonders herausragend ist die sehr umfangreiche und wirklich erlesene Weinkarte. Ein Erlebnis beim Essen und ein besonderes Highlight beim Genießen der Burgunderweine. Die Preise für die Menüs und einzelnen Gerichte à la carte sind fair, die Preise für die Weine sind erwartungsgemäß auf hohem Niveau. Die Weine natürlich auch.

The food here is pretty good, nothing particularly impressive. However, the wine list is amazing with many deals if you look at wines above 150€. Service is spotty - they definitely prefer french speakers, so if you are american expect to be served slower than other tables.

Should have Michelin stars! NYT travel section recommended. Lunch for two with local wine 90 euros. Fantastic boeuf, pâté, fish and dessert. Very small. Reserve ahead. One of the best meals I have ever enjoyed.
