I went to get ice cream and asked about gluten-free flavors, but they didn’t have that information. I requested that they check with someone, but they told me that the person who could help had already left. I also inquired if there was any written allergy information available, and they said there wasn’t. I was really disappointed. It’s frustrating to see a sign encouraging customers to inform them about allergies when they’re not able to provide any assistance.
We visited today for an ice cream cone, and I ordered a small soft serve coffee cone. What I received was so tiny, it looked like a kiddie cone—I've never seen a cone this small before! The girl charged me $4.98, and I was completely taken aback by the size. We used to go there frequently, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. Considering the price, I could have bought a half gallon at Stewart's instead. I will definitely not be going back.
Fantastic soft serve. Light, creamy, and luscious they've totally nailed the texture. Flavor is good too, the chocolate has some good cocoa depth. They're super nice but be aware, it's not necessarily the place to go for a last minute dashing since they're closing soon dessert; they tend to close 10 or 15 minutes before the stated time.
Got ice cream it was OK. Rode my motorcycle without popping wheelies and having lots of fun and thought wow I sure could use an ice cream. So I stopped at Max drive-in and got a hot fudge sundae. Mac's is by far the best ice cream in Watervliet, NY. Try their Chocolate S'mores, hugh chucks of chocolate, marshmallows and pieces of graham crackers. I moved to Clifton Park 2 years ago, but this is so good, it's worth the trip. Enjoy it under the side canopy with picnic tables.
There's nothing quite like a drive-in and ice cream to capture the essence of summer. I ordered food for six, and the service was quick, friendly, and spot-on. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend this place!
The ice cream is always good. But I have been here several times for the fried chicken sandwich. One time it will be a frozen patty. The next time it's a fresh chicken patty. The inconsistency sucks!

The restaurant closes every year in early September and remains closed for the entire fall and winter, only reopening in the spring!
