I've been going to madhatters for years and have always had top notch food and drinks in a fun atmosphere. Recently my six year old daughter attended a birthday tea party at Madhatters, she suffers from 3 serious food allergies so I contacted Nygel before the party to see if I needed to bring our own food (which is what a lot of places ask us to do). Nygel took the time to go through all her allergies with me on the phone and was so lovely and understanding, reassuring me that he could cater for her. Amazing. Today myself and my friend visited for lunch with our daughters. I have a newborn and a toddler and had had a rough night. The lovely, wonderful owner, Nygel, made sure there was room for us and his friendly staff helped me into the cafe. There were colouring sheets and pencil crayons ready for the girls and Nygel made sure to say hello. The decor is stunning, the girls loved the Alice in wonderland theming and the babies loved the pretty lighting. It’s such a special atmosphere! We all ordered some drinks and sandwiches which arrived very quickly and beautifully presented (my daughter’s was on a heart shaped plate which she loved). We stoped here on a slightly damp early afternoon on our way to Bakewell Matlock as I am coeliac so require gluten free food I’d done a quick tripadvisor search as we headed up the M1 WOW, what a find !! The owner Nygel was really lovely as it was a quiet time we managed to have a really good chat with him. even got some tips on places to see on our holiday. The tea cake were superb we both had the gluten free toffee sponge gateau it was absolutely wonderful and not too sweet. Nygel confirmed it was home made as no after symptoms definitely fully gluten free. So lovely in fact we took the rest away with us !! Would definitely recommend to ant coeliac or those requiring gluten free treats !!!...

The good lady and I stopped off at The Mad Hatters en route to our Matlock trip, having found they were able to cater for people with Coeliac Disease like my wife. As it was a bit later in the afternoon, the shop was quiet and the owner Nygel was able to sit and chat with us as we tucked into our wonderful Gluten Free toffee sponge cake. What a lovely man: we could have chatted with him for hours! We eventually had to leave to head on to our destination, but not before purchasing the remainder of the cake to take with us because it was home made and oh so scrummy! We visited Madhatters for our wedding and were blown away. The food, service, atmosphere and attention to detail was absolutely perfect. The guests all commented on the delicious food and drinks. All guests’ dietary needs were carefully and kindly met ensuring that everyone had the most wonderful time. A huge thank you to Emily for all of her hard work on the day and to Nygel for all of his preparation. You both made our special day very memorable. that was undoubtedly the best afternoon I ever had. everything is made by the very talented baker. the macaroons were the best I ever had. absolutely everything was wrong. the staff was so helpful and very friendly. nothing was too much annoyed. we will definitely be back, really impressed and I will recommend madhatters to everyone.

my nabeby and I called today after a beer and couldn't resist trying nygel's freshly baked cheese. absolutely delicious! in the did so good, we had another one! always a warm welcome and good eating many thanks for a very happy Thursday tasty

Just wonderful ! (And excellent value for money compared to other places in Nottingham) perfect mix of sour and sweet, balance of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Fun atmosphere and great service. Couldn’t recommend more highly. Reserva una mesa ahora
