The Maghera Inn is confusing if you haven't been there before. The Inn is a bar and restaurant and the carpark is at the back. The carpark has three sides so you're not always aware how busy it is. The bar part is quite dark and if you would like food you have to wait to be seated. The restaurant at the back has lots of windows. The bar part less so. As it had a number of reservations, we were seated in the darker bar part. The chicken stack and the cheesy topped Guinness and steak pie were good. Service was fine but reserved.

We visited Newcastle for the Irish Open and The Maghera Inn was recommended to us. We visited the restaurant and were delighted that we did. It was the best meal we had in years. The food, service and hospitality was wonderful. We loved it and highly recommend it.

Very rude head of staff, very unfriendly, wouldn’t go back , never even got to try food as this lady was so rude and unhelpful. Would not recommend. Also beer garden is basically a car park.
