We did not enjoy the restaurant. But the bier was one the great biers of Bamberg. We sat in a shaded garten on a sunny day. To order a refill I stepped to the tap room and said "A U" (ah ou) That got me one of their unique onsite brewed brews. They also had fresh pretzels. Check out the "schlem." in the city part wunderburg you will find an undisturbed piece alt bamberg the brewery mahrs bräu, since 1880 in the family owned. the family michel understood to receive the serene atmosphere of the gastronomy. simple benches, narrow tables and a tile stove give a rustic and groundy atmosphere. Went with a some friends and had a great time. You can tell it is going to be a great experience went you notice people just standing outside drinking the beer. You can either sit down for a meal or just order beers to drink. We opted to sit and enjoy some food and with reservations, we were quickly seated. I went with the port shoulder and my friends ordered others from the menu. The food was decent and well priced. I do not think it is their selling point though... did i mention beer? that didn't know anything. I don't think there's a bamberger who doesn't know the mahr. If you're in bamberg and want to drink something, it's gotta get in here. inside it looks like Opas knits. but as opa 16 was! that is unique, beautiful and cozy it is simply not. how does it taste? no problem! Hopefully the mahr will never be changed! service is good, also eat. the beer is looking for his same, but that is known.

I and my friend were presented today, the 31.2.22 a slim menu that unfortunately does not contain typical dishes. we know this mahrsbräu differently. from our experience, the beer is certainly recommended, but the service . I have never experienced that they have to pay a euro for taking up the remaining food for the ship.
who likes to drink good beer should definitely look past the mahrs brown, the prices are very cheap and the beer very delicious. even if they order a razor, they get a very good mix of sprit to be, not like with other cellars, where they only have sprit in the glass and a small spatter beer. so definitiw worth a visit!
service is on tasty beer tastes super tasty. the environment is really great. the food and the prices are lower. the simply furnished rooms look authentic and not inflated, only a class local, and a premier stone in the Franconian brewery land.
Wonderful traditional tavern who brew their own beer. Lovely old rooms with magnificent fire place. Food great too! If you want traditional German tavern this is the one you want.

Very nice beers and the food is also ok. Sitting in a beautiful covered backyard with many places. Yes definitely the 2 km walk from the old town to come here
Great atmosphere. Food was amazing and the beer was from this world. The service was right, even if the service personnel were obviously stretched.
