The menu for Devour week was amazing. We had the cheese bread with some of the best marinara we ever had, the ricotta bruschetta with honey on bread that was far superior to the thin crostini we expected, and then the meatballs were very good. The Caesar salad was a respite from the carbs before we dived into the creamy pesto ravioli, the vodka rigatoni, and the chicken parmesan. The ravioli was rich and the chicken parm was tender and crispy. The vodka sauce had just a bit of spice. Then for dessert we had the chocolate cake, the cheesecake, and the torta della nonna. The chocolate cake went great with a glass of Cabernet and the cheesecake was so tender and light. The torta della nonna was a new experience, a custard tart that was almost like a cross between cheesecake and Mexican wedding cookies. A solid 9/10. We'll definitely be back.
This restaurant is actually my favorite in the entire city of Indianapolis. I have never had a bad experience at Maialina . I have tried a wide variety of the menu, and love everything. However, the VODKA SAUCE CHICKEN RIGATONI is phenomenal! I always tell the chef to make it spicy for me, it never disappoints. I love the calamari app and usually start with that. I highly advise to anyone that wants a great dinner experience to do yourself a favor and book a reservation here. Every girl I have take here has absolutely loved it. In turn making me Head over heels for this restaurant. Shout out to Brett. He has been serving there for some time and I am always happy to see him. Do yourself and your wife/girlfriend a favor, and take her out on date night to Maialina. You will be happy you did.
Ordered salmon with pasta side. Fish was over cooked rock hard and covered in an inedible red sauce full of capers, olives and enough salt to gag you. Wife's, chicken parm was better though we both thought the sauce was like paste. Service was indifferent and noise level was 85 decibels consistently. We'll never be back.
