I can't say enough good about Main Chateau!! The staff is absolutley amazing, professional, outgoing and friendly, welcoming and so hospitable. It shows that this family loves what they do. Our room was also amazing, the bed was very comfortable, the bedding was great, the room was cozy and very clean. The breakfast buffet...plentiful and delicious. Since I grew up in Seligenstadt, I knew the location is great as well. Walking distance to the town square and several restaurants. If you're coming to this town and you're not staying here, you're doing it wrong!! Beautiful location on the river side. Very comfortable beds and lovely service and breakfast. We stopped here for one night while driving to Austria. The hotel is located on the riverside and has convenient parking nearby. We received a very friendly and helpful welcome from the front desk. There is an Italian restaurant on the hotel site but this is not part of the hotel. We chose to have dinner in one of the restaurants that are in the historical city center which is a 2 minute walk. I found this hotel on booking.com and booked to stay for one night. It's located right next to the Main river and is a gorgeous old building. There are no lifts so if you have heavy bags, carrying them two storeys is a pain in the ass. The room is pretty basic and small. The cafe downstairs serves below average breakfast and at €136 for a nights stay with breakfast is a bit rich for this place. I certainly would never eat here again. The staff were friendly enough and helped us with bags and having a room with no ac on the top floor meant it was too hot at night. I would not come back here again. The value for money sucks and the breakfast was terrible.
Nice hotel in beautiful selingenstadt. Its an old style so no airco available in your room. Beds are firm and the cushions are typical german, big and soft. Fold it twice and its ok ; Everything is nice and clean. Your breakfast has a wide variety of choices, from muesli to fried, boiled or scrambled eggs. The service is good, helpful and fast. If you want to selingenstadt this is a very nice hotel in the centre. You can park with your car in front of the hotel (public its paid parking but you get a hotel parkticket . Reserva una mesa ahora
The staff was nice and friendly. The breakfast buffet was good. The beds were not comfortable with a very old deformed mattress. The carpets have most likely not been professionally cleaned or replaced in decades. And the smell of plumbing in the bathroom leaves you wondering. Still, the location is perfectly situated on the river. I am writing this review knowing I will not stay again and with the hope that the ownership spends some money upgrading the rooms to make a nicer stay for others.
We just stayed for 1 night but we will be back! The room is nice, there is a bathtub and the bed is comfortable. Our large dog can also stay with us and it was to problem to bring him to the restaurant in the evening while we had dinner. : The dinner was very nice, local beers are offered and the home made Tiramisu was just the cherry on the top! : The park and riverside are also perfect for a nice walk in evening or morning.
Great hotel, scenically located along Main River. Comfortable and modern in old style surroundings. Only complaint is shower gel instead of individual hand soaps. Thick plastic bottles make it hard to squeeze anything out and you end up slapping the bottom like a ketchup bottle, sadly with the same results: either a dribble or a flood. Not very satisfactory.
