I booked a table here according to other reviews. I'm so glad I did. We're here 15 minutes early, but our table was ready and waiting. We were greeted by the staff who were so smiling and friendly. There were a number of food available... I wanted to try everything, but set up for the lamb, and my son ordered the Haggis. When the food arrived, it was hot and so delicious. It was also very filled. I wanted to try a pudding, but I could just fit one. We will definitely return here when we return to Edinburgh. I would definitely recommend people here who are after a delicious, piping hot, satisfying meal in a quiet, relaxed and friendly environment.
Delicious sausages and potatoes at this restaurant! The staff were wonderful and provided great suggestions, especially for sharing loaded skins which were huge portions. The food overall was top-notch. I enjoyed the beef and black pudding sausages with black pudding mash, as well as the wild boar sausages. For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was a sweet and spongey delight. Overall, a yum-worthy experience!
During our short visit to town, we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food at Makar's, especially the lamb and traditional smoked sausage! The meal ended perfectly with the sticky toffee pudding - so yummy. The restaurant was quiet with only a few guests, making the noise level low. Our server, Ella, was extremely friendly and efficient. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience.
very good experience in this mash bar! I have the lamb with smoked bean mashing and it was perfect! very good part of the food, perfectly cooked! the prices are affordable and the service is fast. will recommend to any tourist who wants to taste good cuisine from Scotland at a good price.

scottish classic made on an alternative way. as the various maische options! service was good and beautiful. the crispy potato starter could have melted with the improvement of the kiesigen chips crospier and the cheese more. except this good meal.
that was the best I ever eat! definitely recommend and stuffed so well that this place is only in edinburgh! the staff was very friendly and welcoming. beautiful atmosphere with music. the food was served quickly and was delicious!
The food at this restaurant was outstanding and the staff were fantastic. Definitely try the ox cheek - it's a must! I also tried haggis for the first time and it was amazing!
This was our second visit to Edinburgh this year, and we knew we had to go back to Makars. Once again, we were impressed by the delicious food and top-notch service.

The food and service were excellent. We were attended to by Calli, who was very courteous and efficient. She even made me a cup of coffee despite having an injury.
Great food, but ssrvice poor. An hour wait and the restaurant was so HOT. When it finally arrived the food was very tasty
