Makondo Hempstead

We have been visiting Makondo since they opened. The food is not the best but not bad. One time I asked for a hard broiled egg and was not told they couldnt do it. Today went for breakfast and ...... i think this will be the last time. Let me first say the staff is very friendly and always nice. We ordered 2 calentados, 2 coffees and a batida de mora. The food came and the rice was cold .. you could tell it was not fresh. It was taken out of the fridge and it seems like they tried to warm it up but was still cold... we told the waiter; after all who wants to eat a cold calentado .... The food was taken and warmed up in the microwave.... Lastly, the batida tasted like milk with sugar added (supposed to taste like blackberry) .. the microwave part is the last drop sorry makondo but you need to do better like you used to do when you just opened the place.

I was there with my family for the first time. The food was delicious and Diana was very pleasant and professional. I recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Colombian flavor.
