I was born and raised here in Omaha. We moved to California in 1982. I've been living in Omaha since last last August. My high school government teacher took me to Mama's a few weeks after my arrival and I absolutely fell in love with the sauce! I ordered a sausage, pepperoni and jalapeno pizza (my own favorite) but the whole experience was great; from the moment we walked in, it felt like home. They have an extensive menu and lots of local, hanging memorabilia. And this Friday I'm taking my neighbors a large pizza to their house for their anniversary. Pretty sizable pizza place. I’m rating this place with the caveat of eliminating my hike town local places. My home town has some incredible places that people look forward to having when they return. Considering you’d have to drive 100 miles from this place to get to them, It’s not fair to drop a star due to better places elsewhere. Ingredients here were good, seemed fresh, and plenty of them. Food was hot, and dough was cooked well also. It was a bit spendy, as a 2-3 topping jumbo was $30. Plenty of room in this place, not just for plenty of people, but plenty of large groups as well. Beyond disappointed at this location. I usually go to the one on 96th but met my parents at this location last night. Ordered a steak Philly and fries. When they brought my food out they gave me chips instead of fries. And the ?steak? Philly was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!! It didn?t taste or look like steak what so ever. It was also SO greasy to the point that it was more like soup slapped inside a bun than a Philly. When asked for a refund or a new sandwich and actual fries
I have been an exceptionally satisfied Mama's customer for the last 45 years. Unfortunately the times have changed. It appears that Mama's has decided to cut their pizza ingredients by what appears to be half of the original amount. The last two Combination pizzas I ordered were both over cooked and lacked their traditional taste. I noticed that they have opened several new locations around town. I imagine that comes with a cost. I used to tell people that Mama's has the Reserva una mesa ahora
Best cauliflower crust pizza!! I don't eat cauliflower but when friends said you have to try a piece I was hooked. They also have regular gluten-free options which is a need for me. Also can get many varying food items for different tastes which helps when some can't have pizza or don't feel like it just then. When you hear I don't know where do you want to go this is a good compromise for almost everyone.
What a wonderful jewel of a culinary delight! The selection was creative, tasty, and even just appealing from the menu descriptions. The location is reminiscent of pizzerias from long ago with a wonderful team of friendly, professional folks who make you feel welcome. We actually just picked up a phone order, but I would LOVE to go back and enjoy the great food AT the restaurant!
