This is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a review on a restaurant as I don't normally, I always read the reviews of places I'm going to eat and this usually makes up our mind of where to eat when travelling, but I'm...angry and dismayed at one particular comment aimed at the mandarin Helensburgh. myself and my wife were there for a meal on the same night as this was meant to have occurred, we both witnessed how attentive and courteous the staff were to the family at that table and I believe they went over and above what they needed to do to appease a very difficult customer. Came to this resturant after coming a few years back when we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. However, this time the same cannot be said. The staff are very clearly overworked and understaffed and did not provide our table with any service. I ordered the chicken...satay which could only be described as oily, greasy, fatty and cheap chicken. My husbands chicken balls were overcooked and had great difficulty cutting into them. My daughter ordered chicken noodle soup which was a heap of undercooked noodles with broth and a few pieces of frozen chicken on top. We had a fabulous family celebration at The Mandarin and it was absolutely unbelievable. We did not think the food and service could get any better but it certainly did. Amie and Kenny have a fabulous team working with them and boy do they deliver!...Great work all of you especially through such difficult circumstances but nothing got in your way. Just love this place more and more. Simply the Best Food Wine Service-Ambience-and value for money!

I had a meal here this week. The staff went to the bother of making my favourite dish, which was not on the menu. We had a lovely meal and the restaurant is nicely decorated and nice to relax in. In addition, the staff are...absolutely lovely and were very helpful with my mother, who has coeliac disease and is, therefore, gluten free. All in, a really pleasant evening and I commend the staff who made the dining experience a real winner.

we had a family birthday here for very demanding people! it was absolutely error-free in every single wise. high quality food from high quality management and personal. I can't recommend this place very much. it must be the best in for us. the land amazing as they think it month for month year for year! if I had medailles, you would all get one! that means that it's so good that you have quality in every sight. x

Went here for lunch today pleasantly surprised when a set price lunch was on offer three courses for with a great choice of dishes. We enjoyed our meal immensely and the staff were were pleasant and efficient. We will return and would recommend trying...this better than average Chinese restaurant

average to poor. do not avoid the water satay satay, avoid the reserve ribs, its simply not great food. Unfortunately, the competition is also bad. I will now avoid Chinese food in helenburgh

The friendly, efficient staff here make for a pleasant dining experience. Food as expected from a good Chinese restaurant. Would certainly book again if in the area.
