Mandarin Restaurant

My son chose the new location for his birthday lunch. We had a reservation and were treated promptly upon arrival. We were given a very good tour of the restaurant before being seated by one of our 2 very friendly and informative servers. We started with Wonton and Hot and Sour soup. Both were very good with the hot and Sour having just the right "bite". The typical Mandarin dishes such as lemon chicken and pepper steak were particularly good. The vegetables in the dishes were cooked with just the right crunch. The maple syrup ribs, part of the Canada 150 items, were a big hit with my son. The moose paws are very good as well but most of the Canadian dishes were bland. Overall the service was great, the birthday song, complete with a red cowboy hat, was performed with lots of energy, the usual menu items were prepared to the high standard I expect in this price range and the new decor complete with fish room is very tastefully done. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. The only downside is there weren't many vegetarian items for my wife.

First visit to their new location. Beautiful inside with attractive surroundings and very welcoming staff. The food was fresh and tasty and as always, replenished quickly. Our server was not as friendly as others working in Dining Room A, but her coworkers made up for her curtness and were friendly and very nice. I was the only one in our group of 4 to order a coffee at the end of the meal. It arrived by itself, no creamers on the saucer. It was only after asking for cream that I noticed there was also no sugar on the table. One of the waiters was passing by and happy to get this for me. This could easily be avoided by asking a customer, 'would you like cream and sugar?'The desserts were excellent and the choices were vast. Only problem was there were no forks or spoons available in this area. If you wanted to eat your dessert with clean ones (and who doesn't?) you had to ask yet another server for them. Overall, very happy with the place and would be glad to go back.

First time visited the north end Mandarin I must say very efficient, staff and service were great, manager checked with us to see if all was good, we had no complaints. Very clean and the food was perfect, something for everyone, staff were always keeping the buffet filled. Our server couldn't of been better. The shrimp was a hit for everyone and a wide variety of food to choose from. Children also enjoyed the sundae bar and the cotton candy. We will definitely go back.

Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada, and this year no cooking a turkey and all that , so we choose The New Mandarin on Hyde Pk Road , _First it's beautiful

Went to this (new) location for the first time last night! It was good, but nothing special.
