Mar Azul - Reservar una mesa

This is a family run restaurant, with the owner there almost every night. My family came here for dinner many years ago and I remember having a lovely meal. Unfortunately things appear to have gone down south since then. We were seated and then ignored for 10 minutes, until we had to ask for the menu. Drinks orders were taken and we were brought the wrong drink. Having mulled over the menu for 10 minutes we had to wait a further 15 minutes for someone to come over and take our order (we eventually flagged one of the two waiters down). We were told that the food was going to take over an hour to be cooked as they weren't expecting to be so busy that evening. We laughed at the excuse busy at 9pm on a Saturday, you would hope so? So why didn't they have more staff?Also, many tables were free, there was 8 tables in total and some of them had already received their food. An hour and a half later and after asking where the food was, we received our paella. It was particularly average, with dodgy looking meat and the fish didn't taste fresh at all. I had much better seafood elsewhere. Shame.

Beef stroganoff is to die for. All the food is home made and delicious. Would not recommend going on a Thursday which is a barbecue and the normal food is not available. The garden surroundings are very pleasant and lally the owner speaks good English and German. We spend a lot of time in Ibiza and mat azul is our first port of call when arriving.

Due to torrential rain and storms I chose this place as 8t was close to my hotel. I had olives and alioli and bread to start which were below par. Lamb to follow was average and was accompanied by about 13 skinny chips. The place just lacked atmosphere. I wouldn't return.

This is a great example of a restaurant able to have a great value for money with a warm service. The menu was excellent and we enjoyed in a pleasant table under the trees. Thank you. You know how to do your work.
