I ordered the Verdura, which was a pesto vegetarian lasagna with zucchini and nut-free pesto. The lasagna was still warm when I brought it home after around 30 minutes. They also included a generous side salad and two pieces of bread, making it a satisfying meal. The lasagna was absolutely delicious! The flavors were perfectly balanced, from the pesto to the well-cooked pasta and cheese. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it tasted for takeout, prompting me to write this review. It left me craving more. I definitely plan to visit the restaurant in person next time, as if the takeout was this good, dining in must be even better. However, I wouldn't hesitate to order takeout again to try...

If I could pick a list of top ten restaurants in SF, Marcella's would be close to the top of that list. When I said that I've never had better lasagna than at Marcella's, I was absolutely not joking. Food: we got the carbonara, abruzzo lasagna, and of course a cappuccino. Abruzzo lasagna: I would kill for this lasagna over and over and over again. The texture and bite was absolutely perfect al dente and the flavor was OUT of this world. You haven't experienced lasagna until you've had this one. Carbonara: the cream was so well balanced with the mushrooms and pancetta. Again, pasta was PERFECTLY cooked. Insane flavor. Location: plenty of street parking during the day, Dogpatch games is also c...
I decided to try the lasagna, since it's a lasagneria after all! The Abruzzo lasagna had a good kick from the sausage and was served in a skillet with a choice of soup or salad. I opted for the tomato/broth based soup with parsley. Bread and house balsamic dressing were also included. The lasagna was amazing. The thin pasta left me feeling satisfied but not overly full. The marinara sauce was delicious and the cheese was tasty. I appreciated that they didn't use ricotta in their lasagna. I wish they offered meatballs, but I'll be sure to try them when I come back next month. I'm excited to work my way through their menu! There are plenty of vegetarian options on the menu and the restau...
Usually have to wait to get in, but I was lucky enough to be seated right away and greeted by friendly owner! Since I visited Italy, I've been missing having Italian food that is as good as it's homeland. Until I tried their pasta lasagna! They come in little pan which is just like Italy and fresh pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce have a lot of flavor! I especially loved their porcini mushroom pasta! The porcini is soft and melts in my mouth, and gives nice aroma to the dish. I would love to come back and try more dish. Prob my favorite Italian I tried so far in SF! The restaurant is a bit small inside but they have outside seating and food comes out fast and owner is great server. It wou... Reserva una mesa ahora
It was none other than Lipstick Louie that called and left a voice mail asking for recommendations for the best lasagna in the city. He said he was planning on dropping off the last of the of Ercon Droopers to the Hinklestaff Laboratory there on Odin Lane about 5 pm and perhaps grab some Italian. Well, I hooked up with the the Lip and took him to Marcella's Lasagneria, and I'll tell you why...if you ask 20 people where's the best lasagna, you'll get 20 different answers. But here's the lowdown, I've been to about 40 different Italian restaurants in and around SF and I've never had better Abruzzo Lasagna than what they serve at Marcella's Lasagneria, and nothing even comes close, it's always...
My friend ordered the abruzzo lasagna with spicy sausage, and I had the mushroom lasagna. Both dishes came with a small bread basket and a side of green salad that was well dressed and flavorful. The lasagna portions were served in individual pans and were a good size. The lasagna sheets were thin, and the cheese and sauce used were tasty and not too heavy, so you didn't feel weighed down after finishing the meal. Overall, it was a nice spot to enjoy some delicious Italian food. Parking: Street parking is the only option in the area, which can be challenging depending on the time of day. However, you should be able to find a spot within a 5-10 minute walk without too much difficulty.
On my days off work, I always want to spend my lunchtime at this restaurant. They are only open from 10am to 1:45pm, so make sure to keep that in mind. Today, I tried the mushroom lasagna, which is my personal favorite, especially if you love mushrooms. They also have several other lasagnas with unique flavors. I also tried the fettuccini con ragu and loved the texture of the noodles and the delicious flavor. The service and atmosphere were cozy and authentic. The best part was being able to use blankets when it was windy outside.
I ordered two lasagnas at this restaurant and they were fantastic. The owner and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The only drawback for me was that the vinaigrette dressing on the salad could have been more flavorful. Overall, it was a great dining experience. Reserva una mesa ahora
This is the best lasagna I have ever eaten. I used to frequent this restaurant often, but it has been about 5 years since my last visit. The food is still incredible, and it remains my favorite place to eat when I am in the area.
This hidden gem has the best lasagna I’ve ever had. Full stop. It’s also cute and the folks running it are very friendly.
