I've been a fan of Yardbird since the very first day at the Ferry Taproom, and I must say, all three locations are excellent. The last time we visited the 1st Street location, we brought our Golden Retriever, Bingo, along with us. Unfortunately, Bingo passed away in August of this year. Today, we hiked at Benicia State Park on a glorious morning. After our hike, we stopped by the 1st Street Taproom for lunch. After a recent midday visit to Benicia, we found ourselves quite hungry. I've dined at several other restaurants on 1st Street and enjoyed all of them, and I plan to finish those reviews soon. I suggested we have lunch here, as it allowed us to leave the car parked and enjoy a short walk. Fortunately, it turned out to be a great choice. I ordered the Shrimp and Asparagus salad, which was delicious. The salad featured mixed greens, avocado slices, cherry tomatoes, a semi-hard-boiled egg, asparagus, and two skewers of grilled shrimp on top. The Louie dressing was served on the side. I really enjoy the MIBC 1st Street Taphouse! I think their Shrimp and Asparagus Louis salad is fantastic very fresh greens, perfectly ripe avocado, colorful tiny tomatoes, yummy semi hard boiled egg and asparagus that has been ever so slightly parboiled or steamed so that it's taste and texture are delightful! Don't want to forget the 5 nicely sized grilled shrimp that top it off ! Difficult to beat that combination of flavors.Service is friendly, prompt and easy going too. Give them a try!
We absolutely love walking here for a beer appetizers. The service is great the food beer selection is fantastic!We enjoy sitting at the bar as we like to chat with the bartenders watch the kitchen. They have a selection of board games/cards you can play:)Children are welcome, they have high chairs. The patio is in front of tap house they welcome your dogs (not a fan of allowing dogs to sit on the chairs then licking the table for drippings).

This is the downtown Benicia location of the Mare Island Brew Co. We came to eat lunch during a dog festival so parking was tricky but it seems like a normal day would be easy. Good selection for pub fare. The cheese panini and truffle fries were tasty. The sliders looked good. Beers were great. Indoor and outdoor seating. Beware that indoor acoustics make it difficult to hear.
Fun place for lunch! The staff was super friendly. Although I know nothing about beer our server was kind enough to help us choose a flight of beers which was fun and we enjoyed the different beers. The burger was amazing.. loved the pickled onions in the burger. They had something for everyone on the menu even the kids they loved their grilled cheese sandwich.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the sliders and other dishes are amazing. The beer, as expected, was delicious!
We appreciate the use of the space for playing music. Plus, great beer selection!
