My husband and I took my 19 year old son and his girlfriend for lunch at Mare yesterday. Starting from the outside the building itself, corridor and elevator are super clean. We were greeted my a friendly host and were seated right away. Although it was a balmy 20 degrees out, the sun was shining so it was just so pleasing to feel like you were outside as you 're surrounded by glass yet it was nice and warm and we could still feel the sunshine. Our waitress Ashley was really wonderful. We had some questions about the menu items and she was extremely knowledgable. I was looking for a special place to surprise my wife for our 45th wedding anniversary. Having never been to Mare, I chose this as our destination. It was an amazing evening. The food was incredible, the ambience was equally spectacular. Our rooftop view was made incredible by the rising, full, orange harvest moon! Our evening was enhanced because we had an attentive, considerate and thoughtful server, Nicole. She was so friendly and kind to us. We arrived for our reservation and had to wait for almost 45 minutes due to limited seating in the waiting area. Despite the long wait, the service was top-notch, with our waitress apologizing for the delay and the manager checking in on us. The Calamari was disappointing, being under-fried and poorly portioned for the price, but the Charcuterie board was well worth it. The Tuna dinner was delicious, while the Short ribs and potatoes were tasty, although the asparagus was too hard to eat. Atmosphere was great. Definitely lucked out getting the last igloo reservation for a Friday night the day before. Julia our server was excellent. She was incredibly nice and knowledgeable about the menu. If she didn't know the answer about some food questions she didn't make up the answer, she found out for us. I am a foodie, and a former restaurant and hotel industry veteran. This was the best service and meal I've had in a long time. Thanks for making our anniversary special. We will definitely be back.
Phenomenal service and food. The lobster bisque was light with big chunks of lobster. The strip and braised ribs were amazing. Generous portions. Genesis was our server and she was super good. Great views and ambience. You can tell the servers and staff were trained well. Some of the best customer service I have ever had.
I give Mare a solid 4 stars . I have been going there for quite sometimes now. Make sure to have a reservation they tend to fill up fast. Food is always great , salmon was fresh and the Mare sampler felt short of my expectations but I enjoyed it..Will definitely go back. This is not a kid friendly restaurant.
I tried this restaurant for the first time. The interior is beautiful with great style and layout. The food was good, but not great. Especially for the prices. I expect a little more of a high end product for what they are charging. I might give them a try in the future, hopefully it improves.
