Maria Do Carmo - Reserva de mesa

Went on the lookout for a lunch experience at Largo do Carmo. As part of the prestigious Carmo Lisbon Hotel we find ourselves having a table at it 's restaurant 'Maria do Carmo '. The simple, yet modern décor sits well with the traditional Lisbon Buildings and with the atmosphere the restaurant wants to provide leaving us with a cozy feeling inside. Ambience music was also a nice touch. Staff was professional and ready to help as they payed close attention to the dishes as they were finished and frequently asked if everything was ok. For starters I was going to order the fish soup. This request was promptly met with an unfortunate reply. They didn 't have it ready as they were still opening...

This is the restaurant of a hotel. It's in a fantastic spot, Praca do Carmo, and the terrace is really nice. Howerver, the food is nothing special: the beyond burger is served with some lettuce and two slices of tomato, and the bread is not great. The vegetable tempura is too heavy, and the one I got was 100% pepper (spme variety would have been nice). Finally, from what I was told, the fish was nothing special. I wasn't surprised to see that the place was empty at 20:45 on a Friday evening...

The local is very close the the Convento do Carmo, has on the menu a vegan section with mainly italian pasta (spaghetti bolognese, with spinach or sauté vegetables). As italian I appreciate the effort for the bolognese which was very very very far from the real one but the portion was very big!

O staff foi super atencioso, o Sandro e o Pedro que trataram do nosso grupo e nunca deixaram que faltasse alguma coisa, a comida era ótima pedi o peito de frango com risotto que estava delicioso. Irei voltar de certeza, e recomendo

Grey in you are with meat freeze on your way, and the waiter is really friendly. I ate the burgers is okay, but nothing special. Updated by previous rating on 2021 10 06

Extremely slow service. Waiting 1h30 for lunch is to much. The food was good but the overall experience was stained by the extreme delay in the service.
