Having been to Marlowe several times before COVID, I was looking forward to seeing how they had changed after being shuttered for awhile, and doing some renovations. Mostly, Marlowe is pleasantly and reliably the same, with a few minor disappointments, but also improvements. One surprise was that prices have increased only slightly in the last couple of years, and while still an upscale place, they're competitive. I had dinner with two girlfriends at Marlowe the other night and we had a great experience. My only complaint is that it’s pretty loud so we had to speak up and lean in to hear each other. Jorge was our sever and he was delightful. We met the chef/owner and we were thrilled it was a woman. She sent us some extra goodies for dessert which made for an even more amazing experience. We shared the scallops which were delicious, the broccolini which might have been our favorite dish, the crudo, and the burger. I’m glad Marlowe is back after being closed for much of the pandemic. I’ve been twice this year, first as a regular guest for dinner, and then for a party in their private room. The food and drinks are consistently excellent. My favorites were the deviled eggs (some of the best I’ve ever had), the sunchoke latkes (a brilliant and original invention), and the super tender and flavorful poulet vert roast chicken. We dined here tonight for the first time and we really enjoyed our menu choices. We started with cocktails. Hubby ordered an old fashioned and I ordered the desert rose. Both very good. We both elected to order the Marlowe burger and Bordeaux. The burger was delicious and cooked to order and we really enjoyed the horseradish aioli. The fries were great and the Bordeaux was nicely paired with the burger. The only constructive feedback I would offer on the burger is perhaps choose to substitute the shredded lettuce for arugula to elevate the burger and compliment the sauce. Busy and popular place with good meat options, steak, and juicy burgers with fries. Sadly, vegetarian options are an afterthought and vegan food options don 't exist. The Little Gem Lettuce salad is a mess two lettuce leaves drowned in shaved veggies and an unpleasant dressing. Simpler would be better. Also, that 's not really a meal alternative for people who don 't eat meat. Sadly, the Brussels sprouts couldn 't be prepared without butter. The brunch menu is short but they get it right. The food was spot on, and was delicious. Even the side salad is massaged to perfection in its dressing. Highly recommend this place and my true favorite from now on!
I've been to this place a couple of times already and I'm always happy to come back. Sometimes I get there when they only have a bar menu but their Marlowe burger with horseradish alioli is superb
