You can't go wrong with this restaurant. I visited with a party of 3 and 2 of us had the veggie breakfast, which they loved so much they didn't even have to think about what to order. I had the fruit toast with plenty of butter, and we were all happy with our food and drinks. The menu has a wide range of options to suit everyone's tastes and budgets. The staff were very accommodating, even bringing my friend an extra teapot of water for her weak tea. Our mission is simple. Visit the best eateries in Yorkshire. Well this quaint , friendly cafe did not disappoint!! . Greeted by warm and friendly staff. Great selection of savouries and sweets on the menu. Catered for a wide range of dietary requirements. Pretty crockery reminiscent of Angela Strawbridge Chateaux series. We had a variety of delicate and delicious sandwiches,scone jam and genuine clotted cream scones and lemon and blueberry cake. Presented beautifully on a fine china 3 tier cake stand. Will certainly return and highly recommend Marmalade to anyone who appreciates good food and service with a smile .
This café is one of the top choices in the area. The food is consistently well-prepared and delicious. I have visited three times in the past two weeks, and my first meal was a delightful lunch of sandwiches and pastries served on elegant china. My friends and I enjoyed a fantastic lunch of mini triangle sandwiches, assorted cakes, and scones, all accompanied by tea or coffee. It was a charming experience, and we all agreed that we would definitely return. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Kudos to them for their excellent service.
We were shopping in Wakefield and on our way to Costa for a well-earned coffee. We passed Marmalade and noticed that it was busy (usually a good sign) so decided to have a bite to eat as well as a drink, The food was ok but the coffee was terrible. I drink coffee black and without sugar or sweetener and the cup that I was sold was tasteless, it didn't even smell of coffee. I will be walking past in future, Costa's may be a few pence dearer but at least it is coffee.

Looking for a quiet coffee and maybe a breakfast I thought I'd try based on TripAdvisor rating and really regretted this. The staff were curt almost to the point of rudeness. Having ordered a croissant I hadn't expected to have been pre-cut and then grilled on the inside to the point of being to burnt to eat. I chose to finish an at best mediocre coffee and leave the smell of stale grease behind without getting any breakfast.
We made a reservation for a party of three for afternoon tea and we had a wonderful experience. The sandwiches, cakes, and scones were all delicious, as well as the tea. The presentation on the beautiful crockery was a nice touch. Our server took great care of us, and our guest from the USA really enjoyed it as well. We will definitely be coming back for another visit.
After looking for a place to meet my friend today after reading reviews We went to this lovely gem The staff couldn’t of been more helpful We went for the afternoon tea for one each The selection of sandwiches was excellent and scones with jam and cake of your choice we chose English tea which was served in a lovely tea pot and was not stop refil
Has a great impromptu lunch here and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who helped me accommodate a pushchair and high chair in a cafe not really designed for little ones but welcoming nonetheless

Lovely fresh food and drinks in a quirky cafe. My daughter and I had lunch there today and staff were friendly, service was good and the food was really nice.
Lovely place for breakfast. Both food we ordered and the coffees were lovely. Staff great. Everything is reasonably priced too. Will Definitely be retuning.
