What a surprise to find a Cuban restaurant a couple of blocks away from our hotel and open on a Sunday night. Dresden basically closes down on Sundays. No shops are open and also most pharmacies. We were happy to find Martinez open on a Sunday night, around 9 pm. I ordered the small order of the Cuban meal and I could hardly get through half of it. It came with rice and beans, pork stew, salad with avocado and plantains. They also sell Cuban cigars but you (thank goodness) cannot smoke in the restaurant. I live at 300 m from Martinez and have already been there uncountable times. The service of Luiz (Martinez) and Maria is warm and friendly, typical open-warm hearted Latin American style. They will always do the maximum to make the clients happy. Very cozy and friendly environment, always with good Latin American music (at Tuesday with a simple but charming live band). The food is traditional, thus simple and tasty as should be. And the beer, as expected, a good and cheap German beer. They also have delicious drinks as mojitos and caipirinhas. A little piece of Cuba in middle of Saxony.

The Hecht- This is the neighborhood where there are great little restaurants everywhere, and a chill vibe. The Martinez is a friendly food joint that caters to your Cuban side. Good atmosphere in summer and winter, and cozy. The bar is great and the staff is superb. Don't hesitate to visit.

We had randomly discovered the restaurant in December 2019 and were very positively surprised. We sat at the counter and watched the preparation of our cocktails and they were very good. Delicious and cheap it covers well. Brewed Manyok with fresh guacamole and half a Cuban plate we tried two. Half of the Cuban plate was a real treasure trove of treats, such as a kind of goulash, avocado strips, cooked manyok with garlic, salad, potatoes and rice with dark beans.

I visit Martínez often and have had only positive experiences. Nothing fancy but great black beans and rice. Best deal is maybe the carne con papas served with her the rice and beans but the enpanadas and stuffed potatoes are also good. Long list of rums available.

Super delicious Cuban with great flair. The food was very delicious and the staff was very friendly and had a typical charm. Locally very Cuban, invites you to stay and enjoy the delicacies. Thanks for the nice time and until the next time

Very cozy ambience, the service was very friendly but somewhat slow. Food tastefully good and at a reasonable price. Furthermore, you can also drink good and inexpensive cocktails here.
