Great Japanese hand-made udon in this self-serve restaurant. You pick the style of how you want your udon - with soup or dry or curry. Then you move along the counter to pick what additions you require to add to your udon before paying. You then add what condiments to want to your dish/bowl. In a way, this is fast food Japanese style. Lunch times can be a bit crowded especially during weekends, but there seems to always space to sit when we have been there. There is upstairs seating if you want a bit of quiet. This is a canteen style restaurant where you order the food and pay at the entrance before choosing your table. I have been here many times and it never disappoints. The udon noodles are made freshly made giving a great chewy texture. The broth used in the udon dishes is flavoured very well and always complements the noodles. In addition, there are unlimited extra condiments to suit your tastes. My recommendation is the dandan noodles with extra green onion and ginger.

Looking for something to eat for lunch while walking down Victoria Ave and come across this little gem. The price is very affordable & reasonable for handmade udon right @ the shop!!! Opt for the basic Kamaage udon which is served in a wooden tub & dunk into the sauce that comes with it. Best way to taste their fresh udon! If this is too bland for you, there are other options on the menu.

This udon shop is great. The service is very quick and there is quite a variety of different udon, curry and main dishes available. All udon is handmade and the udon is a great chewy consistency however the broth can be a tad salty for sum. The side dishes a great including tempura and all dishes are great value for money. I used to love this place a year or two years ago, until they open an array of asian restaurants in hawker lane (in chatswood). I always order #11 the wagyu beef with soft-boiled egg, with udon noodles in a tasty broth hot soup. Great food, with an affordable price. It could get busy during winter but their service is really quick, so no complaints.

We liked it. Very warming for a winters evening but compared to the much fresher, not as thick Udon in Honolulu, more like a food court one. The One in Honolulu also had a tad more flavour and was more generous with their meat servings. Very spacious eatery though unlike the very squashy one in Hawaii.

Cheap price eating, if you don't add tempura （which is quite unresistant, as the quantity of veggie and size of the pork in your udon bowl is very very small）. Udon itself is quite OK. Fast food, so don't be scared by the queue at the front since it will be moving quickly.

Cheap, fast and convenient. As you would expect from a Japanese food outlet. Decent size of udon with plenty of choice for toppings - tempura, chicken, pork, beef or ontama. Handmade udon which is a big plus, will come back again. Reserva una mesa ahora

We originally had Marukame Udon in Waikiki, Hawaii (which we LOVED). Chatswood branch didn't disappoint... but it didn't amaze us either. Still a good eat, at a great price. Will go back again. P.S. ample space for pram!

Great value for the best hand made fresh udon. We get our lunch from here all the time. Fast service and delicious soup and udon noodles. You can sit in or take away and they serve some tasty fried side dishes.
