Mary Brown's Chicken

First off, we used to love coming to this place. The food was always hot; the portions were always big. For the last few months or so, however, the portions have been very tiny and the breading on my chicken tenders has been falling off. It’s not just a little bit, but the tenders are so bare that the oil has been frying to chicken meat directly.On several occasions, they also have forgotten the coleslaw. For what things cost nowadays, we feel we are being ripped off. What’s most disappointing is that this location used to do a good job. Now, it seems like the staff has not been trained properly. I was quite hungry and decided to try Mary Brown because I heard they don’t use frozen chicken like restaurants such as McDonald's and Subway. I ordered the spicy Big Mary sandwich, but I found it wasn't very spicy. It features deep-fried chicken sandwiched between some regular cheese. I also noticed they don't seem to offer any non-deep-fried chicken options. While the taste was good, I thought it was a bit pricey. However, I discovered an interesting deal: on Mondays, the Big Mary Brown Sandwich is nearly half off. Otherwise, a regular-sized sandwich will run you around $10.

I have always enjoyed your food, as it brings back fond memories of home, but I'm afraid I have to voice my disappointment. When did the chicken tenders transform into oversized popcorn chicken? These don't resemble tenders at all; they look more like wing tips. Is this the new standard? I would appreciate some clarification so I can determine whether I was shortchanged or if this is meant to be a joke. Thank you.

The fries were cold and poorly portioned. My Mary Brown burger had no pickles and barely any lettuce. To top it off, the Pepsi was warm. We encountered a significant issue during our family meal when we found a large piece of hair in our food. When we requested a replacement, the staff made it difficult for us. The so-called manager was not apologetic at all and appeared to be irritated by our complaint.

Friendly staff and quick service. Just what you'd expect of May Brown's! The food is always fresh and crisp, and the staff is always friendly. I love the fact that they even bring the food to your table if you're waiting. A true Canadian establishment!

No longer breading their own chicken for the sandwiches. Owner started bringing in frozen patties that aren't even half the thickness of the in store breaded ones. Avoid this franchise.
