Mary Brown's Fried Chicken

I've passed this location for the past 6 years, but have never tried it. My husband talked me into it, so I went for it! I ordered 3 chicken fingers with taters and a 6 piece box of chicken for my husband. It was delicious! The chicken strips were perfectly cooked, plump and more than ample. The taters had a nice seasoned coating and the coleslaw was good too. So, why only a rating of 3? Well, the next week we were working outside all day so decided to try it again. I went to the take out at 5:20 pm on a Sunday. The place was full with people either waiting in line (6 ahead of me) or waiting for their food. I could hear the cashier telling the people in front of me "we only have white meat left, is that okay?". Well, I prefer white meat so I was thinking that would be okay. Then I heard someone in the kitchen say "there's only 14 pieces of white meat left. The next person ordered a 6 pack and the man in front of me ordered a 6 pack as well, so when I got to the cash, there was no chicken left. I asked how long it would be until more was ready and was told 20 minutes. After spending all day in the sun, I was not prepared to wait 20 minutes in a packed little space with no a/c. No way. So I left and went elsewhere. When I got home, I filled in the online form to provide feedback that basically said I couldn't understand how a Fried Chicken fast food place could run out at dinner time. The customer service was very good. The manager called me right away on the next day and apologized advising the video tapes would be reviewed to see what happened. The restaurant is required to keep a substantial amount of chicken between the hours of 4 to 7. I was offered a free 6-pack of chicken any time I cared to go back. So... I went back and got the free 6 pack along with another order of 5 chicken strips this time as I thought I could have 3 for dinner and save the 2 for my lunch the next day. When I got home and opened the box, my initial thought was "they forgot my chicken". But then I saw them. 5 little dried up pieces so small they were laughable. They were dried out and chewy so I ended up just eating the taters and throwing out the chicken. I am giving the value a rating of 2 because I paid $10 for the chicken fingers and couldn't eat them. Very disappointing. I usually give a place 3 tries before writing it off, but I won't be returning to this location.

This place is famous for their chicken, originated from east coast Canada. I've tried them twice.Menu consist of primarily chicken - chicken sandwich, chicken wrap, chicken fingers, taters, potato salad, fries, cole slaw, kids meal, cold beverages.You can make your choice a meal adding fries and a beverage.Good tasting, but too much bread, not enough chicken, chicken too battered.The sauce they use for the chicken is tasty, you can choose regular sauce or spicy sauce. This sauce kind of remind me of the same sauce a famous fast food restaurant uses in their chicken sandwich.Mary Brown's Chicken is good, but I think they are over-rated.Seating available, but a small space for eat-in - two tables with four chairs each, plus five stools. There was ten of us and we took over the entire space.Free parking available, one washroom stall for ladies, one washroom stall for men.I may come back, but not too soon, 'cause it's still fast food and not the healthiest.

Sometimes this location can be hit or miss, but this time it was bang on. I had the chicken fingers with taters and they were cooked spot on. Very juicy and tender. I love the taste of the taters too! It was comfort food at its best.

Everytime I come here the girls are always so polite and patient while you decide what you want, Ive never been disapointed coming to their newer location across from Timmies..

Great chicken. We prefer it to other chicken places the chicken is moist and not too much batter. Great salads and we loved the gravy
