We have been eyeing Mary's Garden for a while now and the lack of online menu and reviews always leads us elsewhere. To make things worse, the restaurant is open only a few days a week and for some reason, never open when we call to inquire about their food. The stars aligned today and someone actually picked up the phone at Mary's Garden and talked us through the available options. We decided on chicken teriyaki udon noodles and beef bulgogi for a mid week takeaway. Both dishes were incredibly tasty, non greasy, fresh and our plates were wiped clean within minutes. Mary's Garden is a cozy restaurant located near Nelson Hospital, towards Wimbledon Chase. Booking a table is easy and highly recommended. Upon arrival, Mary greeted us warmly and we chose our table. The menu is extensive and with Mary's guidance, we shared 3 starters along with Japanese beer and green tea. The starters were freshly prepared, piping hot, and delicious, perfect for sharing. We have been back and will return again the food is delicious and we are delighted to have found this restaurant nearby. It;s better than Wagamamas any day. Really delicious food, beautifully presented and at a very fair price. I personally love the decor, and we enjoyed the music (very easy listening, unobtrusive jazz). Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and hope they are here to stay.
This lovely intimate restaurant can seat a maximum of 30 people and serves the most incredible food. It's our go-to spot for dining out, and everyone we've brought here has loved it too! The prices are very reasonable - on a Saturday, two of us shared three appetizers, had two main courses, a bottle of red wine, and two bottles of water for only £70, including tip!
Mary is an excellent host, and the dining experience was very comfortable. We felt welcomed and at ease, as many of the other patrons were regulars and on a first-name basis with the staff. The food was outstanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed Mary's suggestions for our meal. I will definitely be returning soon - this is now my favorite restaurant.
