Having lived on Mallorca now for two years and never once been to an Indian Restaurant here,my wife and I decided we should Give one a try WE picked ,after 1 hour on the web the Royal Indian Restaurant lots of Jolly altho Too Happy; looking customer pictures ,Serviettes and cutlery untouched, most people with NO FOOD in front of them. HOW they can write a review without having eaten. YES I KNOW they wrote it later.! Just indicating, the set up is SO HAPPY it does not ring true. Parking near the place is Madness. Llegamos temprano (a diferencia de los lugareños) pero había unos pocos comensales. El lugar se ve fantástico desde afuera y tiene una apariencia de calidad real en el interior.... sin embargo, a pesar de un servicio muy dispuesto a complacer..... Los poppadoms estaban blandos y tuvieron que ser devueltos y reemplazados. ¡¡¡¡¡Los platos llegaron y estaban fríos!!!!! ¿Cómo es posible que eso suceda en una temperatura ambiente de 28°C? Sin ganas de quejarme de nuevo, volqué mi plato sobre una vela para calentarlo. Ojalá no hubiera molestado... La parrillada mixta tandoori fue espantosa. El pollo tandoori de ayer (posiblemente antes) que estaba seco, sin sabor e incluso carecía de sazón básica...
Being the only persons dining in a huge restaurant does make you question the establishment so on this occasion we took a chance and were greeted by a jolly guy who seated us and produced menus took orders and shortly after our food order was placed. Between three of us we had some lovely pappadums with chutneys, Sheek Kebabs Meat samosas , to be honest the kebabs where very dry like a precook and microwave job but the Samosas where tasty and enjoyed . Our main meal was Chicken Biriani ,Prawn Jalfrezzi with Pilau Rice, unusual Onion Bhajis that resembled deep fried onion rings from Mc Cain all in all very average. For a good night out in pleasant surroundings, you could not find a better curry House in Palma. It’s not Basmati, that is in a different league, this is more for a good night out at the Royal India. We had a bit of a boys night out , and we were going to the Taj Mahal, but that was closed for refurbishment, so we went further down Blanqeurna to this place, a great find. Welcoming staff, attentive service, great Hindu food, we as ever ordered so much, but here was nothing left the starters especially the Chicken Kebab and the Samosas were fantastic, main courses all served with individual heated dishes, perfect nan breads, oh a joy! This was a good experience. We went for a dinner and were able to find a table easily. The starters were as one expected at any Indian restaurant but fortunately they were fresh unlike some of our prior experiences. The main course is ample in quantity and slighly more expensive than some other Indian restaurants but I guess that is what you pay for some better quality and a good ambience. The restaurant did feel exotic in terms of its ambience and I have heard that they do Bollywood show sometimes. But I am not sure. Overall a good experience and if I were not to try something completely new place, I would definitely visit here again.
I was actually really looking forward to our visit to the Royal Indian Restaurant and the Bollywood show. But I have to say, I was totally disappointed. The show was not a show... the dancer was a really nice Belly Dancer that danced 5 Minutes, but no Bollywood show (and 5 Minutes would not be called a show). The food was quite standard, I did not have the feeling of homemade or cooked with indian ingredients/species.
La comida muy sabrosa, el ambiente genial y el personal amable. Pedimos pollo tikka tandoori, verduras picantes y carne dansak con arroz, chapati y pappadum. También solicitamos otra porción de arroz y salsa picante, ¡y ni siquiera nos lo cobraron! Las porciones eran bastante grandes y los precios normales para Palma. Las bebidas no eran caras en absoluto y el café estaba rico. ¡Totalmente recomendable!
La comida para llevar fue realmente mala, pedimos dos currys diferentes y ambos sabían exactamente igual, con una cantidad absurda de aceite y muy aguados, al punto de que una sopa de tomate tendría más consistencia. No quedamos satisfechos y nuestro estómago lo está sintiendo bastante mal. El repartidor fue amable, pero aparte de eso, no vale la pena.

Very good service, very nice food and the decoration of the pace is really nice! I really liked the food and i really recommend it! It is better than other indian restaurants located in a more central-tourist area in Palma. I am coming back soon,next time in Palma.
