My husband and I look foreword to going to Masons EVERY Sunday for Brunch. I get the French toast breakfast, it comes with 2 long pieces of French toast, 2 eggs (scrambled or fried), grits, and sausage (patty or link). You can top your French toast, it comes with powdered sugar and whip cream but I like to top mine with fresh strawberries, they offer a strawberry compote as well. I am so impressed with this restaurant. I lived in NOLA Louisiana most of my adult life and visit family here every year since I left, eaten at all the well known and rave reviewed restaurants, and I'm telling you these folks know how to do it right. The food is excellent Louisiana cuisine, in a rustic design, great bar back room, lots of screens for fans to watch their sports. You feel welcome and at home when you walk thru the door. My husband and I went to Mason's Grill today for lunch. It was terrible, I hate to say. My husbands food was cold, he had breakfast and my hamburger was not cook and my onion rings were cold. We come all the time but this time it was not good at all. The last couple of times, the food has been “off”, just not the same. I don't know what going on, maybe new cooks. I don't like wasting money on cold food. Sorry Mason's but we will not be back!
We love going to Masons. They have a smaller menu now, but our favorite items are still on there. They desperately need a new wine menu. We have spoken to the new owner about it on a couple of occasions, and still nothing has been done. This is the only restaurant we visit frequently where we don't order wine. The food is always good here and my favorite is the burger menu…yummy! If you like ****** Mary's then Masons is the place to go.

Although very busy the wait wasn't too long. Ordered the boudin stuffed onion rings as an appetizer. My friend says it is the best ****** mary outside New Orleans. My friend had the crab cakes benedict and loved it. I had the smothered chicken. It was perfectly grilled and seasoned. It was a great lunch and opportunity for friends to catch up!
Waitress 2nd day, my first visit. She got orders wrong but was super friendly. Presentation not pretty but well seasoned and extremely tasty.....
Relaxed, down hone space. No watered-down drinks and the food was tasty. Enjoyed the patio as well.
Sorry, pretty good service but the food? Skimpy portions at premium prices! Won't be back…
