Mateus Bar Restaurant

My husband and I live in the area and decided to try this restaurant for the first time based on the good reviews. The atmosphere was serene and quiet, with only two parties seated. We started with the crabcakes as an appetizer, which were large and delicious. My husband ordered a special Portuguese fish dish, while I opted for the seafood in marinara sauce. Unfortunately, the service was slower than expected and it took over 30 minutes to receive our food. I found the seafood mix to be too salty for my taste, while my husband enjoyed his fish dish; however, we were surprised to learn that the mashed potatoes were instant. The staff was friendly, but I am unsure if I would dine here again.

Our second dinner at Matteus was to host dinner and treat our friend and his family for his big 50th birthday! Their staff, Diego, Sofia and another lady were attentive, friendly and ensured that our celebration was a success. Their boss allowed us to bring our own cake. All six of us found our choices of drinks, appetizers and main courses delicious! Like most restaurants do, they automatically charged us service fee because we are a group of six. I actually grew up in Queen's village and always walked by this restaurant but up until today I never walked in there, biggest regret. For Monday the seafood was really fresh, The pasta was superb, And the overall service and atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back again.

I felt bad for my sister as she is legit to shellfish and most of thir dishes had shellfish, even though we didn't order those dishes she is allergic to the smell of it as well. The food we had though was good. There was also this annoying fly that kept flying in on us. Reserva una mesa ahora

The food at this restaurant is top-notch and the staff is incredibly friendly. I enjoyed everything so much that I even brought my friends along. The prices are very reasonable for the generous portions of food. The seafood dishes are particularly outstanding.

Could not enjoy the food for being bothered by flies. Was moved from one seating area. Waiters acted like they didn’t notice the flies until I observed one waiter attempting to grab at a fly. Don’t order the seafood paella it’s bland with very little taste

This restaurant is a hidden gem! So glad my friend brought me here. The food is Amazing (generous portions), the service is top notch and the atmosphere is inviting and friendly. Will definitely be coming back with more family and friends! Cheers!

The oysters were incredibly fresh! I also ordered the lobster and filet, and oh my goodness. The medium rare filet mignon was unbelievably delicious! The server was very nice as well. Thank you, Diego! Reserva una mesa ahora
