I recently attended a charity gala and sat at a VIP table which was upsold in part because it would feature a five course meal from Matsuhisa. You could literally afford a down payment for the price of this table. The “five course meal” turned out to be more like five bites. We were all starving and wistfully looking at the plates of other guests the entire evening. Worse, Matsuhisa’s on-site staff was slow, unresponsive, and rude when asked if there was any more food coming. No joke: we ended up ordering Chick-Fil-A and pizza to the event. It turned out to be a funny story but if this is how Matsuhisa treats its VIPs imagine how they’ll treat you. This place will NEVER receive my business.
My wife and I were looking for a special date night and Matsuhisa definitely delivered. We were seated promptly and impressed by the extensive whiskey selection. I particularly enjoyed the Kaiyo-The Unicorn. Our waiter was very helpful with recommendations. We shared the Udon Soup and tried a couple of specials. The sashimi trio (Tuna, Salmon, Whitefish) was beautifully presented on ice. We ended the meal with some Mochi, leaving us feeling satisfied but not overly full. The sushi at Matsuhisa is amazing, and we can't wait to return!
We 've been to Matsuhisa a handful of times and it 's an amazing experience every single time. Ask for THE EXPERIENCE and I won 't say anything else about it except for to trust your server and trust the chef. Literally cannot go wrong! It 's hands down the best sushi and Japanese food you 'll find anywhere. we are also gluten free so they made every dish to meet our restriction which makes the dining experience that much better 10/10
My wife and I always make time to go to Matsuhisa while we're in the Denver area. The cocktails are delicious, and the wide variety of sushi kitchen options ensure that everybody will have a favourite bite during your meal. I can't get enough of the crispy rice tuna, the tataki options, and their seasonal sorbets (get the berry one if it's available)

Incredible. This is a favorite for true celebrations. Most recently a graduation, but perfect for anniversaries etc. can’t say enough. The food is all amazing and I recommend letting your server curate the meal. Give them a budget and any dietary favorites or restrictions… and they will not disappoint.
Been to the Vail location before prior to visiting the one in Denver and it was top notch! Came to celebrate a birthday dinner and the food was beyond phenomenal. Atmosphere was excellent and so was the service!
I missed Nobu in NY and then found out Matsuhisa was in Denver! All the best dishes, Black Cod w miso, rock shrimp tempura, yellowtail and jalepeno, and my favorite cocktail, the lychee martini.
