Before I tell you about my experience, let me tell you a story. 3 or 4 years ago, I roamed the streets of Cairns and struggled to feed myself. I would sit around the Cairns Night marketplace and beg relentlessly at the passersby for a...drop of coin or a small chunk of their warm meal. I was desperate, hunger was the only feeling I felt, and ignorance was the only response I received. However, one night, everything would change upon my visit to this place. Upon seeing my sorry and pathetic state, the owners showed nothing but kindness and willingly accepted me as a customer, even going as far to offer me food for free, which I humbly received. That experience alone taught me to value myself...
This restaurant offers truly authentic Japanese food. The sushi rolls were a bit small for my liking, and there was a limited amount of wasabi included with the takeout option (although I could have requested more). The Unagi was cooked perfectly. As for sake, you have the choice of it being served hot, cold, or at room temperature, with three different options for strength. The sake is served in three different sized vessels, so you can sit back and enjoy the high quality of the drink.
worst experience ever in cairns the men at the reception was super rude, he said that it was stupid to ask if their food was nice, he said several times very loud when we were just looking for a recommendation. eating is mediocre...at most we think that the instant rays would taste better than their rams and overall horrible service would not recommend at all
matsu and his team are so attentive and informative. eating is authentic Japanese fresh and aromatic. matsus chic with the knife and respect for the fish he serves is something to see. we can't see this place enough for a...going and experiencing for ourselves. during this visit we had a sortiment to sashimi and chicken katsu curry. gochisou sama

My favorite place to eat in Cairns! Authentic Japanese cuisine, delicious ramen, great selection, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend it with a score of 10/10.

always good. always friendly. no need to book, but it is advisable because they can be very busy; it is very popular.
Real Japanese food. Extremely happy. You know it's good when you don't need ginger, wasabi or soy with your sashimi.
