My husband and I have been here twice now. We've been wanting to try this place out, but they are always so busy, and now I know why. My first time here, I had the hangover biscuit. It's a biscuit with bacon, egg, fried chicken, then covered with bacon and candied jalapeños. It was delicious! The bacon was crispy, the chicken was hot, fresh, and crispy. The candied jalapeños gave it that extra something special. I also had their biscuit with sausage gravy. Their sausage gravy is really good and fresh. I tried their cinnamon roll biscuit as well. It was just okay. It didn't have enough of the cinnamon roll goodness, so it was on the dry side. My second visit here, I did the biscuit with sausa...
I ordered via Doordash one day, and it was so good I went there in-person the next day. My friend and I both had chicken waffles. While it could use a little more seasoning on the chicken,the waffle was tasty. They have all kinds of butters to choose from. And different types of juice. To all my southerners, the tea is sweet and on point. I ordered shrimp amd grits via DoorDash and it was prepared exactly as I asked. Fyi, the DoorDasher said it takes them awhile to prepare orders. And I saw a DoorDasher waiting for quite some time awhile when I was there also. Just FYI it may take a little longer, but worth the wait. The pictures are from my DoorDash order. We tried Maverick for the first time today. When we first walked in, I was afraid we wouldn't have a seat. Luckily, several people were finishing up as we ordered. I had the Orange Walk Chicken Biscuit with no egg. It was a large biscuit with fried chicken, goat cheese fritter, and pepper jelly. The combo really hit the spot. We ordered loaded home fries, but they did not come out with the food. We were told they were on the way, but they never came. We had to ask about them. They were covered with cheese and bacon with an avocado ranch dipping sauce. I don't think they were worth $6.50. The few staff members we encountered were friendly. Prices were a little high for breakfast.
Been before and it was fine but got today I got served what had to be an old biscuit with old gravy. Parts of the biscuit that should’ve been crunchy were stale. Like it was old and they just reheated it. Sausage gravy had similar issues, pieces of sausage in the gravy were all tough and dried out. Gravy itself tasted old. Won’t be back considering there are seven other quality biscuit places I can choose from in the area. If you’re open for a short amount of time, then it should be priority to serve fresh, quality food Reserva una mesa ahora
This place has the best cat head biscuits I’ve ever had! I ate the Maverick Shrimp Grits Buttermilk biscuit with Cajun shrimp, andouille sausage and lobster sherry sauce on a pepper jack stone grits cake…..and it was delicious!! The pictures don’t do this biscuit justice. They have a jam bar and a coffee bar, both with excellent options. The staff was friendly and the food was out quickly. I can’t wait to go again and try another one of their delicious biscuits.
